I remembered first reading at the end of Halo 4:
“Every Great Journey begins with a single step. This is our beginning. Thanks for trusting us with the universe you love and joining us on this epic adventure.” - 343i
I was very happy to have joined on that epic adventure. So excited to speculate on what happens next.
The Halo 343i was building up to seemed so epic…
Yet, after Halo 5 and the Escalation comics, I have to say, I’m unsure if I like this Great Journey anymore.
Part of me wants to be excited for whats to come, yet the let down of what we already have (Halo 5 & Escalation comics) bashes that away.
What happened to 343i’s story telling?
What happened to the character interactions that we originally saw in Halo 4?
What happened to Chief’s Human or Machine theme?
Why did 343i bother building up to the Absolute Record, Jul’s character, Halsey’s revenge… just to have it all seemingly thrown out at the end of Escalation?

I’m confused as well. Needing to read the external material to understand the game is lame, dawg. They built up this wonderful human story in 4, but in 5 its like they sat there in the writers room like “NAH, NAH, CUT THAT OUT, IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE, MAKE IT A COMIC BOOK”

The comic series just ended and none of it explains Halo 5.
And it just threw out The Absolute Record and the Janus Keys, literally.
The ending to Escalation -Yoinking!- sucks, it wraps up nothing and it escalates virtually nothing.

The comics just ended on one of the worst notes ever.
It just basically nullified Spartan Ops, pretending it never happened and not bothering to explain anything about Halo 5.
So, I’m not seeing it at all in the comics.
I’m hoping Halo 6 will be their best.
Halo 4 story was pretty good, delivery, content etc. it was all there.
Halo 5 mp is the best by far (ohter than 3 of corse)
so now its time to smush them together and make 6 the best halo story and mp ever.
