343i working with Team Dakota to improve

Should 343i work or ask team Dakota for help with H2A OR H5’s Forge
This does not include graphics just map making/game making

I don’t know, the last time 343i asked someone to help them with Forge (Certain Affinity) the end result was three broken Forge maps and a semi-useless pallet.

I think 343i should handle it this time.

I feel like 343 doesn’t do enough stuff in-house as is. I dunno, maybe other companies aren’t as open about it.

No matter how good team Dakota are with map makers (Project Spark) that is a different concept all together. Team Dakota also have to do a lot of work with project spark, especially considering it’s in beta. Project Spark will also probably have a lot of DLC coming out this year. so I doubt they can work together. and like I said earlier team Dakota would put forge into a completely different concept.

I’d prefer they just use an altered version of Project Spark’s engine and capabilities for a fully-fledged Halo 5 map editor. Halo and Project Spark both belong to Microsoft after all, and Project Spark is free to play.

I agree, Dakota seem to have their hands full and will do for a long time.

I’d also like to see 343 do it themselves, too. In my opinion, Halo 5 is the game they need to do right to prove themselves properly, not Halo 4. Nobody is going to get it all right first time.

I say let them do it themselves, I have faith.

This is the next naturally progressive stage for Forge imo. But I think it’s best left for H6 or other halo games after H5/ 2A so both companies can get themselves set before any kind of collaboration.

Who ?

Forge is single handily the greatest untapped resource that Halo has. The problem with forge is there is almost no means to showcase user-made content within matchmaking.

What Forge needs, is a system for the community to promote user-made content to a matchmaking playlist which is dedicated to user content. With the plethora of maps that will likely exist, there would also need to be a feedback system to help filter good content to the top and bad content to the bottom.

I don’t know. Project Spark and Halo seem like 2 pretty different beasts, especially since Project Spark is still in beta and probably will be until later in the year.

And also only the well known people get anything in matchaking (mini slayer, all flood maps)

I somewhat agree
just not the part about leave things out they can do now aka terrain editor or day night weather cycle.

I despised Forge in Halo 4 (used Forge in Reach a LOT), and I have no idea why.

The only thing I can remember disliking was the fact that every time somebody in the match exited “monitor” mode and became a Spartan, there would be a short loading time for everybody.
I liked the dynamic lighting feature, but the frequent loads were annoying.

Messing around in Forge, and not just creating, was a huge part of the fun, but it became annoying with the frequent loads.

I have a feeling that this isn’t the only thing that I disliked about the mode, though.

OP please note there is a “multi-quote” feature so you can quote and reply to multiple posters/posts with just one reply. Please use this feature in future.

On topic: I’d love 343i to produce some of the features from Project Spark or work with Team Dakota. Imagine being able to tweak the sandbox or terrain or physics or story or AI and then upload it. Forge Evolved indeed.
