Hey guys,
I have owned Halo 2 for Vista for awhile now, and I feel deeply worried that Halo 2 will be forgotten and be permanently gone. Can you guess please fix Halo 2 on Windows and put the matchmaking system and take away the dedicated servers that cripples the game? The reason I’m asking this is because I’m a veteran of the game I feel that it would be very honorable if you take the game and do more patches for it Please? It would mean everything to me that you at least keep Halo 2 on windows alive, but put it on the actual Xbox live format. I don’t want you to abandon this game 343 Industries. Please fix Halo 2 on Windows and give it more work, with better bug fixes, and also improve the anti-cheating engine in the game please. I want you guys to fix it, so I ask sincerely from the bottom of my heart as a former Halo 2 Veteran on Live. Can you Please fix this game?
Will you do it for me and put Halo 2 on Steam or Games for Windows Live Marketplace to buy on PC?
I want to save this game so much so I ask you as a team and I also ask the members of the forums will you support Halo 2 being repaired and tweaked for Modern Windows OS?
Hopefully they will make a re-make of Halo 2 for for both platform’s
I think you’re missing the point on how PC games work. They don’t work the same as consoles in terms of hosting multiplayer games. If you look at just about every PC game out there, they are run on dedicated servers. There already is a matchmaking system in place. It is just hindered by the lack of people in the game, so it really doesn’t have a good result when performed. As for patches, 343i is going to be focusing on their latest projects. Everything gets phased out at some point, and Halo 2 is well past its due, but is still very playable. Halo 2 Vista is also at the patched state as the final version of Halo 2 on the Xbox was, and possibly even past it, so you’re definitely getting the same “glitched” experience. Anti-cheating, sure: maybe they could update it, but if you see someone cheating, there’s always the report option on a person’s profile.

I was talking about patching, Halo 2 on PC and having this game sold on steam. Were not talking about Xbox Live
