343i - Why no more map remakes?

With the popularity of “Ragnarok”, why not remake a few more popular maps from previous Halo games? Variety is the spice of life, right? Plus, what could it hurt? ((((Shrugs))))

NOTE: I know that you (343i) want to tread your own path but this is still a longstanding series. Therefore, giving a little of the past isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Plus it may cut down on the how constant the current popular maps are played. In other words, more variety. Think about it…

They think they have to do EVERYTHING different just to make a good game. I understand they want to try new things but -Yoink-, why go so overboard?

I wish if they didn’t make remakes they at least made decent maps though. At least Majestic looks solid.

Remakes work with the old game mechanics designed around those remakes. The likes of sprint, no descope, AA’s and such break and ruin them

Check out this link, this thread kind of falls under this category in my thread.
Forge Maps & BTB Objective!

Also, i agree with your thread. Shutout was a very popular map in Halo 4’s community forge testing playlist. I think it would be VERY nice if 343i put more forge/classic maps in Halo 4’s matchmaking!

You guys are forgetting 343 aren’t making the maps. Every MP map has been outsourced to Certain Affinity. Explains why none of the maps have that “Halo” feel. In all honesty, the community has made some of the best maps.

> Remakes work with the old game mechanics designed around those remakes. The likes of sprint, no descope, AA’s and such break and ruin them

All that means is that the designers would have to make adjustments to account for sprint and AA’s.

Nah, a $25 hd remake of Halo 2 would be better than halo 4 remakes with infinity settings… Really hope they use Improved Reach graphics instead of Halo 4’s “dynamic lighting”

It looks great and all but it breaks split screen play. Unless the next Xbox console is backwards compatible and can better handle the lighting effects, then please… Carry on with your dynamic ways. I loves the look, just hate that it doesn’t work sometimes.
