Basically 343I is seeing all the complaints about Betrayals and excessive quiting and are working out a formula to push out a stranger hammer.
Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully, it will help.
oh boy, more bans just what we need XP.
add social playlists with lighter restrictions
keep the ranked playlists tight with bans
its that simple
banning your players because they arent having fun in the unbalanced ranking system and bland playlists is a terrible practice
and they wonder why MCC and H4 populations dropped so quickly…
hope it changes games

That is great news. I could not believe how long it was taking players to be banned. This thread yesterday showed a player with over 70 DNF"s before finally being banned. That’s insane. One of my friends just started BTB the other day and both his games, he was betrayed because he had the sniper. So unfortunately, he no longer wants to play BTB. Good to hear the penalty is getting more severe especially for quitters and betrayers. No one should be allowed to have 70 DNF games before being banned.

This
The games are so unbalanced at the moment. (It goes both ways, and lately I’m on the winning side more often, but I hate unbalanced games) Win or lose.
I think last night I was on a winning team, and the lowest level on our team was Gold 3, and the lowest CSR was over 20, but I think three of us were in our 40’s.
The other team had one Gold player, and three unranked players. The unranked players all had low CSR’s, so it wasn’t because they hadn’t played this particular play list.
How can you ban players for dropping out of this? Unfair matchmaking.
Have a look through my game history (I know… I’m pretty bad at this game), but you will hardly see any close games, and take a closer look at the CSR for each player, and you will see how unbalanced the matches are.

TMCC population dropped so quickly because the mp DID NOT WORK properly for many months.
Also if the people that quit and betray all the time leave, that is perfectly fine with me. A lower population with players that actually WANT to play the game is better than the players that leave or betray all the time.

and this one is?
just because you can connect to servers and play matches does not mean it is “working”
it just means you are able to play against people consistently
Hand out ALL THE BANS.
Social playlist are needed like yesterday

H5 is working WAY better by a longshot for most people. While H5 might not be perfect or working for everyone, it is at least working for the majority of the world and H5 is actually on dedicated servers. TMCC mp did not work properly for the majority of the world for a long time and the dedicated servers were next to non existent. Even people that did reviews stated in every review how broken the mp was for everyone. H5 stability is miles ahead of TMCC. You can not even argue that at all.
I had a guy kill me twice trying to get the sword and it didn’t let me boot him so I retaliate and I get banned trying to protect myself.
If you want to scare off even more people and decrease the already low population, go for it 343 ! Lets make 24 hour ban hammers, I’m sure casuals will wait eagerly after receiving the ban from quitting uneven party vs random matches to insert the disc again !

I agree! Boot the sore losers who join something they already knew could happen. I’d much rather have people who’ll stick it out be the ones left. Don’t care if its even 300 people left as long as they aren’t quitters.
I am not sure larger bans would help as people need to be trained and the reason why people leave games needs to be addressed. I bet a lot of quits are people that got x map in a row so they just back out. They only do it maybe once a day so no ban process will catch them. If we inflict a timeout where you cannot join the next game until your previous game ends plus a few minutes it gives them a small break and doesn’t anger people into quitting the game altogether.
Then you need to address the “why” people are quitting. Not having a social playlist is the largest but maybe some work to prevent a player from getting the same map 3 games in a row or count the game as a loss for people playing placement games etc.
Handing out month bans will help nobody. Halo 5 does not have a huge population so banning long term does not seem wise. You say “well ban them as I don’t want them in my games anyways” if you give timeouts to let people cool off a bit it may prevent them from quitting two games in a row. If you address their frustrations that cause some to quit then many will not quit.
I would never quit unless the last player left on my team but many casual players play to have fun and could careless about staying in a game they are not having fun in.

You can’t avoid playing the same maps over and over unless a system is in place to do that. How many games do that though? 343 removed player voting cuz people got tired of playing ragnarok in h4 5 times. Even with the game picking it, it still occurs. The reason these games do this though is cuz new players replace previous players in the lobby so it gives them that chance to play their favorite maps, even if previous game players just played it. There just really isn’t a way to avoid playing the same maps for everyone.
I can’t imagine stricter bans are gonna help much. Maybe only in the sense that quitters get fed up with the bans and stop playing altogether.
If you have people that are quitting because they have little chance of winning, they’re getting destroyed, their teammates suck or whatever, the possibility of a ban isn’t gonna get those people to continue playing a match. At best, it’ll keep them in the game running over to the enemy to give them kills so the game ends quicker and at worst they’ll stop playing the game completely with a big ol’ “-Yoink- this”.

Not to make you look bad but… nekrulz was being sarcastic. Read his comment again.
