343i Take me to the promised land.

I don’t post here much but when I have I felt I have been perhaps, overly critical of the changes coming in Halo4. However, I hit upon a thought today that I felt was worth sharing.

I’ve decided to let go of my judgements and go into this game with eyes wide shut as it were. Simply put, it doesn’t matter how vocal we are. For better or worse, 343i has made design decisions that they feel are best for halo4. It’s not that I’ve given up or have decided to “adapt”. Every time a new addition to a franchise is released we all adapt or we move on. No, it’s not about adaptation.

So 343i take me to the promised land. Return halo to it’s glory. It goes with out saying that this game will sale like hot cakes just because it has “halo” on the cover, but 343i has an opportunity here to “right the ship” and bring back those of us who were left with a bad taste in our mouths from Reach.

How many of you, like me, are ready to take a leap of faith with this game?

“I would follow you into the mists of Avalon if that’s what you mean.”

I among many others jumped blindly into Reach. It ended badly, and that was a Bungie game, from the guys who made the first three games. From the looks of things Halo 4 isn’t going to end any better and it’s by an entirely new studio who’ve never made a game together before (I don’t count CE, it was basically just a texture pack). I’d much rather expect it to be bad and not be disappointed than expect it to be good and be disappointed.

^^^ Lol stepbrothers reference?
To awnser your question, I believe Halo 4 will be plenty good. I will be cautiously optimistic about this game. But from what I’ve seen and heard it sounds like 343 is taking this very seriously and know what they are doing. I think it will be good, but whether or not it will be great has yet to be determined. That said I’m pumped for E3!!! We’ll see plenty of Halo there.

Possibly. XD

On topic: I am a Halo fan. I like to think that I have a considerate level of lenience for what ever direction and/or shape of form the franchise goes. This is not to say I will blindly follow 343i and Halo into a deep abyss of poor quality. I will however say that there are some things I don’t like about Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST and Reach. These things may be quite major and minor, Reach in particular tick’s the former boxes in a number of ways. However, when I consider what I do love about these games in comparison to my personal dislikes, I have no reason to lose my faith and passion for the franchise. In terms of adoption, I have adapted to every change and development of the series, there will always be dislikes and flaws from my point of view to this aspect of an evolving and ever progressing series but again, the positives always out weight the negatives for me and that is all that matters.

For those who claim Halo 4 will not be successful, traditional or favourable, that is ok, they are entitled to their opinion. Just don’t try to force it on others.

I know Reach wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst. Bungie was trying to innivate and bring new things to Halo. Some things worked, others failed horribly. Point is 343 has the opportunity to cut the things from Reach that didn’t work and make the things that did even better. They can also expand and bring other new things to it. Which this has opportunity to end badly again, it also has opportunity to freshen up the franchise. It’s better to be cautiously optimistic than to be expecting mediocraty.

Really all I’m hoping for is truly balanced shooter that everyone can be happy with.

No

Plenty of games have changed radically post launch.

If 343 is worth anything they will take the complaints(which will come. Two AAs at a time? lmfao) and change the game up.
