Like think about it- it’s not a solution, but it has plenty of benefits since it means fan content can extend the lifespan of the game. I mean given that after recent brutally questionable decisions from on high 343i is going to be severely understaffed, why not give fans the option to directly contribute to the game? I
If Forge has shown anything, it’s that if you give fans time and resources enough to work with they’ll give AAA content a run for its money. Honestly you can outright commission some modders to help with the game itself.
Plus opening up the game to that extent would potentially lead to some fans being able to find and even fix bugs in the Slipspace Engine- again, with enough time and resources.
Maybe this is just a pipe dream, or maybe I lack an understanding of how modding and programming work, but if you have a sizeable fanbase of people who want your product to succeed and are even willing to work on said product directly why not let them do so?

That would be really nice and could revitalise the game.

This could help the content issue, but sadly, the campaign, desync, and game mechanics will still be an issue.

Oh I agree wholeheartedly, like I said it’s not a solution. It’s barely a band-aid. But it would be something, you know?
Like right away- campaign mods. Play through Infinite’s campaign but with Halo Wars and Wars 2 vehicles. Or fight the Flood. Or have your Co-Op buddy be Arbiter- or find ways to enable and optimize split-screen for that matter. Or be able to use your Spartan in campaign. Or add cut content. Something!
I’m just saying, given the state of the game and 343i and the grim dark mood that accompanies this, it would literally only help right now.

Maybe release mod tools for the campaign mode and we could create our own campaign DLC! I mean, allegedly further expansions have been cancelled and 343i will no longer be allowed to work directly on Halo so… yeah. Mod support and Steam Workshop support would be great as an addition!

Exactly. That way whether they do campaign DLC in the future or just say screw it and make a new Halo game, we’ll still have stuff to do with Infinite’s campaign in the meantime.
