I would like to see something like Star Wars: The Old Republic’s cinematic trailers with tons of action. Remember the Master Chief fighting Thel 'Lodamee in “The Package” from Halo Legends? If 343i made 2 or 3 cinematics for Halo 4 I would want an Energy Sword duel, maybe even between two Spartans and two Elites.
I think something like this would be great for Halo 4! What would you all like to see if 343i made a few cinematic trailers for the game?
My biggest problem with cinematic trailers is it sets up false hope when it comes to the real time graphics of the game. I rather them make trailers that are actual in-game representations on what the game will play like.

Actually i love cinematic adverts and there is a couple of reasons why:
They dont spoil the actual story
2 We all would like to see an epic Halo movie and those adverts kind of fill that empty spot
They actually evolve the story. Deliver Hope trailer explains why Kat has one mechanic hand. Spartan is Born trailer shows the agumentation proces of Carter.
I would love to see those kind of adverts for Halo 4.

These cinematics can also be deemed as canon. Since they usually don’t spoil anything, it’s easy to make these types of trailers as canon.

this, i mean i love cinematic trailers but i’d rather see actual gameplay over it anyday

We will get game trailers eventually as always. But game is still far away. And i would be very sad if we´d end up with everything revealed and no surprises left.
Eh, we better get a good one. The Halo 3 ark opening scene still stands as my favorite advert of any game. I doubt this one will be too spoilery so it should be epic We might even hear a remix of the Halo theme in it.

true but im just planning on ‘going dark’ on campiagn details/trailers anyway
> The question is, can Halo 3’s trailers be topped?
If I see anything like an Elite vs. Spartan Energy Sword battle and it’s epic with an ongoing battle surrounding them, I believe 343i can top Halo 3’s trailers.

To be fair, it’s not all about the money. Reach had a bigger budget, but the only really memorable trailer it produced was Deliver Hope, and even that was a fairly obvious silenced-with-slow-music-on-top, lots-of-explosions affair.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but a while ago I read that Halo 3 had a lot more money spent on it in regards to marketing than Halo Reach did.
