Hey all, I’m writing this In hopes that someone at 343I will see this and agree it would be the best course of action.
At the moment I believe 343i are not only working on bringing reach to Xbox, but to PC plus the whole MCC to PC, and I honestly think they are biting off more then they an chew. The reason I say this, is because as you can see, the PC testing has been delayed due to rather complex issues when porting to PC. So, what I’d like to see, it’d be best if they focused all there man power on just getting Reach out to Xbox as one there are far less complications when porting to XBO, and two the game was first released and originally souly released for the Xbox platform, so I see no reason why this shouldn’t happen. I hope people can agree with me on this, as it’s been far too long waiting for Reach to come to Xbox one.
343 isn’t working on Reach alone. Splash Damage is doing PC and Ruffian Games is working on the console so putting their manpower into one area isn’t likely going to change things that much if at all.
So, basically, what I read here was, “Bring Reach to the Xbox now because I’m impatient.”
As previously said, they have a few teams working on bringing Halo: Reach to the Xbox and the MCC to the PC. 343i’s main focus should not be on bringing a game nearing ten years old to a new console but to focus on their future title, Halo: Infinite.

The irony is what I’m reading here is someone on their high horse , clippity clop much ?
the op is expressing a perfectly valid opinion about focusing on achievable outcome for the console user in a timely fashion . Not impatience just a realistic outlook .
the pc release is causing some delay and headache which is frankly to be expected considering the undertaking they are trying to achieve , but nothing at all reported in latest update on the console side of things except for 'it looks and plays great on the Xbox and pc ’ 10 words out of 4000
343s focus and history ( weather in house or outsourcing ) whilst very admirable has been littered with falling very short with over ambitious projects. I think we all want the same thing at the end of the day . Great halo games

We have no idea what is going on in the background to make any assumptions. I, for one, don’t mind being patient and waiting for a joint release. It’s a big project with a small team since much man power is devoted to infinite. If you are really craving Reach, play some 360 or backwards compatibility. You never know what is expected for this release. PC may generate more revenue than Reach on MCC and that revenue goes towards other projects such as infinite.

You do realize that 343 isn’t working on the ports right?
Someone should tell this guy that Reach already came out for the Xbox in 2010
While I wait for the release, I’ll be playing it on BC for the time being.

I never said they were though? I was just agreeing with another post.
With the state MCC on xbox is (messed up spawns, BR is broken, there is only one server most of the EU players are playing on – East US 2 and more), I honestly doubt it’s going to be a pleasant experience, even with Reach on board…
In my opinion start Flighting when the checklist is all clear. What OP seems to mean is if the Xbox Version is farther along and good to go for Flighting while the PC version still needs further work why not just start the Xbox Flight first instead of waiting for the PC version to be good to go.

Basically how I took it.
Why is everybody attacking OP? I never once read anything in the post that would have gave the idea that the OP was impatient. As someone previous stated, OP is making a good point.

I agree. I don’t want to have to wait longer for the PC port on the MCC. I’m waiting for the flight testing on Xbox One right now. It would be unfair to console payers to force us to wait for the PC version. 343i should release each when they’re ready.

It may be unfair, but the $5-$10 they may make from those on xbox will not reach (get it, “reach”) the amount of revenue they will get from new PC gamers waiting for the full purchase. This is a business, and I, for one, am willing to patiently wait for my turn so they can make a profit to funnel towards making a better Infinite whenever that comes out.

I’m not saying that Reach shouldn’t come to pc, just that 343i shouldn’t delay Reach on console for no reason. I want Reach functional. When it’s ready on console, they should release it. Later when it’s ready on pc, they should release it.

Yeah, I’ll be doing the same thing. It’s bound to have SOME online life surged into it nowadays thanks to the MCC PC announcement.

Right, but they are focusing on making it work best on PC right now. If they divert manpower back to xbox, they are delaying the launch of the more profitable venture to get the less profitable xbox version out sooner.

So splash damage a UK dev is doing the PC stuff.
Ruffian is doing all the xbox stuff.
With 343i pub team overseeing the project.
The rest(bulk) of 343i are working on infinite. The manpower allocation seems pretty set in stone, as for profitability your forgetting that we have already bought the mcc or pay a sub to game pass so there is an ongoing commitment to consoles as well. I’d also envision its a far easier cheaper option to give the 4k enhanced upgrade to Xbox mcc than it is to do the PC port.

Hmmmm… I was unaware that Ruffian and Splash were completely separated. If Ruffian is at a stand still waiting for Splash, then I would agree that xbox should move forward and PC can come out whenever it is ready.
