343i please make this an extra button layout

RT - Shoot
RB - Action/Reload
LT - Throw Grenade
LB - Sprint
LS - Move/Crouch
RS - Strafe/Zoom
A - Jump
B - Melee
X - Armor Ability
Y - Switch Weapons
D-Pad Down - Switch Grenades
D-Pad Left/Right/Up - Ordnance
Back - Scoreboard
Start - Loadouts and Settings

Maybe this could be Recon, I don’t know, just make one like this because I’ve always played with default on Halo 3, and Recon on Halo Reach.

or if it’s possible put crouch and sprint on the left stick and make LB Armor Ability and X could be switch grenade.

2 words:
BUTTON MAPPING

Shoot - X
Reload - LT
Grenade - A
Sprint - Down D-Pad
Move - RS
Strafe - LS
Jump - Back
Melee - Start
AA - B
Switch - RT
Switch Grenades - RB
Ordnance - LB
Scoreboard - Y
Loadouts - LS

Ultimate EVO and MLG competitive settings!

> 2 words:
> BUTTON MAPPING

Oh…I call it Action Maopping but THIS SHOULD BE THE CASE!!!

> 2 words:
> BUTTON MAPPING

Heard that’s quite hard to implement into a game(i have no clue how or why)

Better idea:

RT - Shoot
RB - Sprint
LT - Throw Grenade
LB - Armor Ability
LS - Move/Crouch
RS - Aim/Zoom
A - Jump
B - Melee
X - Reload
Y - Switch Weapons
D-Pad - Switch Grenades
D-Pad - Ordnance
Back - Scoreboard
Start - Loadouts and Settings

This should just be default.

this is the problem 343i takes dumb ideas from people with dumb ideas.

it would be intuitive to switch the left trigger from grenade to either sprint or AA because it’s intuitive to put one of the most used features on the trigger button.

grenades could easily be mapped to the left bumper with little to no problem. it’s an intuitive change and makes perfect sense.

So, I pulled out my old gamecube and popped in James Bond.

I noticed I could map my own buttons on a “custom” template under controller options.

That was 2001…

why can’t we have button mapping in 2012??

because 343i is lazy to test different settings. they think some type of “cheat” like bxb would come out and people would complain… yet glitches are found all the time… let it come out and then patch it.

i don’t get what’s so hard about that.

You say that as if it were a fact…it isn’t laziness, I do not think, because most, if at ALL games nowadays lack a button mapping feature. I just don’t understand why modern-day game developers do not add this feature. I mean, it is in pc games, why not console?

Like i said probably for fear of button glitches. I say they allow it and then patch whatever glitch there is after the fact.

I never thought of the possibility of button glitches, but, as you said, they can patch that.

I dunno, I just think it would be a great addition to any game; it’s worth the risk.

I think the reason why button mapping isn’t in most console games is simply b/c they would have to build an entire program that is accessible in-game in order to do it and try to fit that on the disk along with the rest of the game. This is especially difficult for games that release on multiple consoles and require completely different programs.

It’s basically Recon w/ Sprint and AA swapped which many Recon users have come out and said on the forums that they want anyway so I approve of this. Ordinance is Left/Right/Down though so you should switch that.
