343i, Please Go Back to 20 Challenges

IMO 15 challenges would be ideal. 10 seems too quick, and 20 can drag.

I like the idea of a radiant challenge; instead of the Daily Challenge being ‘Complete a Match’ (which is more or less obsolete in the face of Match XP), the Daily could be a more difficult but XP-awarding challenge.

While I didn’t have a huge issue with the playlist-specific challenges, I do like the direction the challenge objectives are going in.

I think once Match XP is dialed in, and 343 hits their stride with seasonal content, the balance between Match and Challenge XP will feel nice for Battle Pass progression.

Personally, I think it’d be nice if Challenges weren’t random and instead were curated each week to reinforce the playlist focus for that week, like with what we see when events are live. Not saying there should be a crazy-specific focus, but more just a little “Flavor of the Week” to nudge the community in a certain direction for that week, so to speak.

I was thinking that cutting it in half was a little drastic. Especially after only 2 matches I was half way through the challenge deck.

But, then I decided to go check out campaign, and I’ll probably jump into forge the next time I jump on. So, thank you 343 for greatly reducing the pressure so I can enjoy the rest of your game.

I don’t think it’s at all with people wanting to be challenged. Saying people wanting handouts in a video game isn’t helping the debate at all either, it’s a freaking video game.
The issue with the previous challenge system, it was forcing players into a game mode we sometimes didn’t want to play. Half my friends wanted to play swat and the other half, BTB.
They can at least have 10 main challenges for the weekly reward, and an additional 10-20 optional challenges for the week.

NO, it’s much better with dropping it to 10. Now I don’t have to play countless hours trying to do one dumb challenge or go in a particular game mode. I’m glad I can also progress with my party now. Was so tired of having to flip flop game modes since we weren’t all given the same challenges. The change is GOOD.

i hope they have 20 challenges for the next fracture event. like if they stick with 10 challenges for season 3, then add 10 for fracture or just make the existing 10 for event bp. if they dont its gonna be 5 levels then ur done for the week. thatd be pretty garbo.

I’m guessing that all ten challenges will be event-based.

It’s not like you need them to progress any more, really.

Challenges should be infinite (hah) and the weekly should be rewarded after a threshold

Their planning to test exactly this of what you mentioned with the upcoming Winter Contingency 2 event pass.

If you need challenges to keep you invested in playing more than two hours of your favorite game in a week; It’s not your favorite game.

I love the new challenge system 10 challenges a week is far better than the original 20, it now only takes me about 2hrs to finish rather than the original 6hrs it’d take me, not to mention I can now play and finish all my challenges with my friends no longer do I have to cut my friends off to go to another game mode to finish my challenges as we can now play the same game modes and finish our challenges at the same time.

Bottom line is I strongly disagree with the OP cause the way the challenges are now after the Winter Update is beyond better than the original 20 Grind.

I like ten challenges better, since I work a lot and don’t have too much time for gaming. With that being said, it’s understandable why a lot of people miss there being a little bit of a grind. I’m just happy the obscure challenges are gone. I swear, you’d see stuff like:

Get 20 360 no-scope headshot kills with a Sniper Rifle that save an ally’s life while bouncing with the Repulsor

No.
Go back to your corner.

I hate challenges and the ‘ultimate reward’ determines.
If they are worth doing.
