343i Please give Halo 3 Players Flames(Bungie Chestpiece)

Many people on bungie.net in the Halo 3 forums were mad how on Bungie Day that flames weren’t given in Halo 3. I PMed a few Bungie Employees on that day and was told “Microsoft controls Halo 3 servers, ask them” and this was before 343i was given control of Reach. Urk also said that they could have done it but it would require a script that they didnt think was needed. Halo 3 player were disappointed by this. We enjoy flames on Reach but when we go and play Halo 3 we would love flames on there too.

Can 343i give the all Halo 3 players the chestpiece. You could even do it around when the Gamma forums replace the Beta forums, and you can make it where you have to sign in and activate it or something. Please 343i I ask this “Can We Haz Halo 3 Flamez”

Word I Mean Why Not Please

Uhh…no?

Microsoft controls that anyway, not 343 and that came from Bungie themselves. 343 may control Halo but MS controls the content of such games, and no offense, but everyone just got the Blue Flames from Bungie a few months back, why should people have the Halo 3 flames?

Oh, is that the old gamers friend “Greed” again?

I knew this was going to happen, if it’s not the regular red flames in Reach people want it’s the flames from Halo 3. Can’t you people just be happy with what you currently have? It’s not like it’s essential to your Halo 3 experience. I’m sorry for being such a grouch about it but for gods sake come on dude…

Bungie gave out the Blue Flames to the fans, to those people who couldn’t/didn’t get it in the end, that’s their own problem, they had plenty of time to do so, if they didn’t have an iPod or iPhone Bungie put it on their site a few weeks later. There is no valid reason for wanting the original flames other than greed and that sir, is fact.

Why can’t Bungie keep a little exclusiveness for themselves? Why should they give everything away? You know as well as I do that that is unfair. You nor anyone else need the flames to play the game, so play the game and leave that stuff alone for Bungie to enjoy.

Well Evil Otto said and XO Sancho said 343i can give them if they want. so…

Exactly. They can give you the flames if they want to.
Not because you want them.

@Sp00n

You don’t seem to understand what I’m saying.

You and everyone else want the H3 Flames for the exact same reason, because it’s something you don’t have.

Humans are like that, when we see something we want, but can’t have, we whine about it until we get our way.

I’m not saying you are, but you probably understand what I’m saying. So yes, they can give them to us anytime they want, but why? Why bother? Who honestly cares about a helmet that is on fire on a video game? Do you really need the Flames to play Halo 3?

No, you don’t.

At the end of the day, it comes down to one thing. Greed.

Im not being greedy and neither are other people that want it. We just want it because we are big fans of Halo 3 and it used to symbolize things to Halo 3 players.

Nope, they should not. Why? Because they already gave us the Blue Flames, Red Flames, and the option to unlock the Haunted Helmet for Reach. Don’t you think that’s enough? Think about the people who never got the chance to Play Halo 2. They’re not whinning or complaining about it. Me neither, i could have played Halo MM when Halo 2 Released, but instead, my first Xbox Live Match was on Halo: Reach (On Reflection). I would really like to have played Halo 2, but i couldn’t, and you know what i said? “It doesn’t matter, if i couldn’t play it before, i will compensate it later”.

Point is, you can’t get Flames on H3. But i’m sure there’s a lot of unlockables on HCEA, H4, and Waypoint (Probably coming soon).

Halo 3>Halo 4

You aren’t taking no for an answer, that’s greed.

At least giving a reason aside from “We deserve it for no reason” is childish. Greed at least has meaning to it. It’s a stupid aesthetic that brings no punctuality to the gameplay itself. Either way, it was available on Reach for a distinct amount of time. If you missed out, sucks to be you. If you think you should get it b/c “you’ve been playing forever”, well then I deserve a few guitars from Metallica or free tickets b/c I’ve been a loyal fan for so long.

One thing worth mentioning is that Urk explained that to give flames to even a single player they would have to force everyone to where them. They can give you flames, but every single player on Halo 3 would be automatically changed to wearing them and could not take them off if they tried.

Found the quote.
If you question the first one, read this one.

I see no reason to withhold the Halo 3 Bungie chest piece considering Halo 3 over 4 years old.

This is pretty much what would happen if they did:

-Everyone would wear it thinking they’re pro.

-They’d all go online to show off their pro-ness (it’s a word), only to realise every single other person in the game has it too.

-It would become unnoriginal and lose most of its value in a week and nobody would wear it.

Exactly! Just because people play the game doesn’t mean they deserve anything extra. Same for the argument of gameplay, what does the Flaming Helmet in Halo 3 do for you?

Here is a short list of good/bad things that the Halo 3 flames will bring.

Good:

  • New Piece of Armor.

Bad:

  • Everyone in the world is forced to wear them.
  • It won’t be special anymore.
  • Taking 343’s time to develop a code to give the option to turn on/off would be time consuming, thus halting time on Halo CEA and/or Halo 4.
  • You can get it in Halo: Reach by owning the Legendary copy.
  • More childish idiots running around thinking they are pro because their heads are on fire.
  • Greed will come back yet again, players will want more. As usual.

The way I see it. The bad things overtake the good things by quite a lot, and there are still plenty of other reasons that other people could think of to add to these lists.

Like I said before, people only want it because they don’t have it. If they get what they want, every Halo 3 player will be forced to wear it. I personally, would not be happy with that. I don’t know about others but I’m not looking like the rest of the Halo 3 population because some selfish little sod got greedy.

It’s not worth the time, it’s not worth the effort, it’s not worth it at all. Play with what you have, be happy with what you’ve got and stop asking for more, and this goes to everyone out there who thinks they are owed something.

Fixed.

This is correct. Until the Beta for Halo 4 is released. Then that should read Halo3< Halo4. For now though the equation should read Halo: CE=Halo2=Halo3=Halo3ODST=Halowars=Halo:Reach=Halo4=Halo5=Halo6=HaloRetakingReach=Halo7
