343i Please extend the inactivity timer . . .

I was just in a game of Warzone Assault with my clan members (Winning) and I go down stairs to get food. It was literally less then 60 secs. I even positioned the analog sticks against my bed to make sure I was moving a little in game. It took maybe 30-45 secs to get the food then I come back and boom!

"WAKE UP JOHN! "
You were kicked due to inactivity.

So if a parent has a kid or some guy just a spilled his tea by accident, you mean to tell me a 30-45 sec clean up will get you banned? Like dude . . . Extend the inactivity timer. It’s not hard . . . You already have my money . . . Fix it . . . (((d-_-b)))

Agreed. Can’t even answer a 1 minute phone call.

So you should just be allowed to stand still, feed the enemy kills, and not contribute for any length of time?

It’s not feeding if my clan is winning and they don’t mind . . . Nice try for generalizations though.

No, read his post again. He didn’t state “any length of time”, he merely stated that the current time is too short.

Any length of time is by definition a length of time. 1 second is a length of time. 1 minute is a length of time. Going AFK is not okay. It is harmful to the other people playing the match. Sometimes there are emergencies in which case it isn’t an issue that you go kicked. But if you want to make a sandwich or grab a pork pie do it before you start a match.

I thought it was three minutes? I’ve been able to take a leak in game before, or grab a beer.

True. They must address this

I did this in a slayer game. One person lagged out on the other team so it was a 3v4 so I went to grab food because we were up too much to even lose and I got booted the second I got back to my chair LOL

The idea is if you start a game, you have enough time to devote to playing and finishing that game without being AFK. I’ve never been kicked in my 1538 games, so I am inclined to believe the current system is fine.

Why did you “have to briefly discuss some things” right then and there? They couldn’t wait? You couldn’t talk while playing the match you committed to? You couldn’t take the controller with you and wiggle the joysticks? How long was the conversation?

> What if your batteries die on you, even if you run to grab batteries and swap them out usually by the time you controller turns back on you’re kicked

Sorry Red, I normally love your posts but can’t agree with you here. My batteries die mid match at least once a week and I’ve not been booted once.

I went to use the restroom once when I had been searching Warzone with a friend. I heard the TV start announcing the dropping of players, etc. and hurried back into the room (bathroom is IN THE SAME ROOM AS MY TV). I was booted. I asked my friend what his timer said. He said the game had been going for 32 seconds.

Ridiculous.

I’m honestly happy/thrilled/excited people are getting booted for AFKing. You’re ruining the experience for everyone else when you all take “1 minute” to go do something around the house. Play or quit. Stop the whining.

Sometimes my cat gets in my face and/or sits on the controller. You’re saying I should get booted for taking ~30 seconds to move the cat? NO. Had it tested. 30 seconds or less and you’re booted. At least show a timer with a verbal warning if it’s going to be so short.

I agree!!

No. You must never be allowed to leave while in the game. Follow the rules.

The timer for Warzone is actually 1 minute.

Obviously the situation is different if you’re with your company and comfortably winning, but how the hell are they going to address that? Just wait until in-between games to get food. It’s really not that hard. They should not extend the timer because it further promotes the already-present issue of idling.

343:feminism:cancer:bubonic plague etc. Talk about 343 -Yoink!- in my face and having the nerve to tell me its rain. I’m practically half the Australian population and you wanna send me to the lobby/ban me when I go afk for a minute out of necessity. I actually really enjoy Warzone in H5 but this companies politics are reprehensible.
Too bad if someone breaks into my house and I have to ask them if I can finish my game before they steal something valuable to sell (not the xbox). Keep it like Reach if they AFK a few games then XP/REQ ban them or whatever. Or keep your horrible system in place and continue to push away the 2 people actually playing your game.
There is a small chance to revive this aborted -Yoink!- but everything I see is counter intuitive to keeping Halo fans around.

Hahaha, I’m glad someone put into words how I also feel about the banhammer. People have these things called “lives” outside of videogames. Sometimes i have to take aphone call or answer the door or take a leak… things you cant do anything about. I would leave the game so another player would take my place, but you get banned for that also. so people just end up mashing buttons until the phone call is over or take the controller to the rest room which is even more damaging to the team.

Or have social playlists you can drop in and out of without fear of being banned from a game that purchased with good money. Let the sweats have their own playlist so the rest of us can play casually. A lot of people are here for fun, not for K/Ds and ranks. Grifball is pretty much unplayable now because of the banhammer.

PINCH IT OFF!!!
