343i please do not abandon Halo Reach

We want to be able to play the maps we bought, because nowadays it is almost impossible to find one the match.

It’s been abandoned for a long time unfortunately. They just keep the servers running, but they don’t do anything else.

Yup, your request falls on deaf ears. The last thing 343 did for Reach was unlock the population counter a few months back. If it’s not happening in Halo 4 then it isn’t happening at all.

This. BTW, I like your name Donut, funny like mine : )

‘Abandoned’ is such a harsh word. More like ‘We got a new game, so most of our focus will be on that.’

They still have people working on it in bits. Daily challenges don’t make themselves unless 343 has a massive challenge list stored in some computer that has been updating the game by itself since it came out.

Reach was gone the moment 343 got it.

Actually, the challenges kinda have been doing that. There is a reason you see the same challenges over and over.

Wouldn’t know since I started playing again about two weeks ago.

shrug

The Daily/Weekly challenges are actually automated, they have been since the game was released back in 2010 when Bungie was in control. Why do you think we still occasionally get the challenge for linking our gamertags with bungie.net? Nobody handles them, much like the rest of the game. It hasn’t been touched in well over a year.

I wouldn’t say that, and it is still monitored by SOMEBODY in the studio, and will be until it is potentially taken down from LIVE years and years later.

Don’t say that! I don’t even want to think about when Reach will be removed from Xbox Live. That’s actually a really depressing thought. You’re gonna make me cry dude…don’t make me cry. :frowning:

Like I said, the challenges are all automated and have been since release. Once Bungie decided on what the challenges were going to be, they will have been put into a server that randomly chooses the appropriate challenges. Nobody will monitor this, thats what automated means. It might get a random check once in a blue moon but that it.

If it was monitored, then why would we still get the challenge I mentioned in my previous post (that can no longer be earned by newer players)? Or on the occasion where challenges don’t change from one week to the next due to a possible server glitch? If the challenges were monitored by an actual person, don’t you think things like this could be avoided?

Exactly. It technically isn’t their game and they don’t care about it because it was made by Bungie.

I dont see why they wouldnt care about it. Im sure they do care about it. They kinda got to. Without the bungie Halo games, this company wouldnt even exist. So i really hope they really listen to us and just a take a day of work and add back in the DLC playlists.

I would love to agree with you. I would really like to think that 343 does care about it, even if it is just a bit… but I really doubt it. They have Halo 4 to worry about as well as Halo 5 (and beyond…maybe). I think they would be so concerned with their own projects that working on anything else just wouldn’t be worth it to them.

It would be nice to have maps back in rotation.
It would be nice to have Anniversary BTB, Squad Slayer, Action Sack, and Firefight Doubles back. Heck, it would be nice to have even just one of those types back.

But it isn’t their game and it isn’t going to happen.

Ehh… the game plays better than the one they created and are currently monitoring, so I’d prefer that 343i just keep their hands off Reach as much as possible.

If they would just put out a dlc playlist, it would be great for those with the maps.

While it wouldn’t be the most profitable endeavor for them, it would be nice since getting on DLC maps was an apparent concern since Halo 3.

I would have actually bought the DLC maps many, many months ago if there was actually a playlist. I only bought Anniversary because I actually had a -Yoinking!- chance of playing it in MM. But I’m also dying to finish my achievements, don’t know if it’s worth it or not to buy the maps  probably not

I never had a problem playing on any of the DLC maps in Halo 3 before Reach was released. I got them regularly, specially ones like Ghost Town, Heretic, Citadel and the many Sand Box variants. When Reach was released the population of Halo 3’s DLC owners declined and DLC became more scarce, but I still played them fairly regularly.

The only reason DLC barely shows in Reach and Halo 4 is because both games have low populations and many of the remaining players either don’t have or refuse to buy the DLC. This in turn causes those that do have the DLC to not see the maps they bought, since there is more of a chance of matching up with non-DLC owners. All it take is for a single DLC owner to be in the lobby for none of the maps to show.

343 does not, and never has, actually cared about Reach. End of story. They haven’t even bothered to update the challenges since they got ahold of it. It’s Bungie’s child, not theirs. Why should they love it as much as Halo 4?
