In Slayer I’m a Diamond 1. I don’t feel like I’m that good at this game, I just play a lot of slayer. It gets really frustrating to lose 10 games in a ROW and not be put in a lower rank. It gets frustrating to constantly be perfect shot from across the map with the damn pistol. It’s frustrating to be put up again teams when I play by myself.
Fix your ranking system. I should not be put against people that are clearly better than me at this game. I would rather be a platinum rank.

Not when they are exceedingly better than you and you only have time for a few games a week. The ranking system is there so you can be matched against ppl on the same level as you to give you a good experience and getting ranked down would help with this

First, IDGAF about getting better. I want a fair fight.
Second, I’m being put against people that are WAY better than me on a consistent basis. The system should be matching you with equals, or else what’s the point??

It’s hard to have the desire to keep playing when you’re completely demoralized loss after loss. I mean the game isn’t fun if you’re constantly losing. I understand where you’re coming from, I mean playing with higher skilled players definitely increases your chances of becoming better. It’s just insanely difficult if you cant even keep up with the competition.

You bring up the point of competition is great when you have a chance still. no one likes to get crushed all the time.

CHILL, he was just giving an advice which is true. If you don’t care at least politely acknowledge it and reply with what you’re wanting.
Now my reply to what you want, you do know you’ll still play vs people who exploit (play bad on purpose to play vs lesser players) the system and may still be considerably better right? The odds might be better but the system needs work. The purpose is to try and get equal fights but none of halos ranking systems have worked like that but some worked better than others.
I get the feeling they don’t want to deal worth all the people whining that they ranked down because they kept getting put on bad teams:/ basing your rank on a bunch of random yahoos was just dumb to start with though

No I was in platinum when I was first ranked. Seriously won like 10 games in a row (only because I had a squad with me) and in a few days I was diamond. Despite not really doing that well, usually going even or just above even (and mostly because the other team quit out). Then it puts me into diamond and I lost, literally, 8 or 9 games in a row and I was still diamond 1. Must have had a 0.8kd the whole time. Every game I won I went up a rank. But I have yet to lose any rank from a loss. It’s broken, and 343 needs to fix it. That or add a social playlist for people that don’t care about stats and just want to play and won’t be all super try-hard camp every weapon/power up all game.

Oh god H3’s ranking system. Christ almighty was that harsh. Made for good competition though.

Play free for all. Your rank wont be influenced by a team so it will rank you more accurately.

I hate FFA, soooo no. I want to play Slayer 4v4, which is all I did in Halo 2/3.

It was good, I’m not saying the older systems didn’t work, just saying each has had exploitations to a degree which this current one has as well.

Harsh? Why was H3’s ranking system harsh?
Because if you lost a ton of games in the beginning against mediocre players, it was a struggle to rank up? Isn’t that how it should be?
Halo 3’s ranking system was perfect. If you win a ton in the beginning, you get boosted all the way to the top very quickly. If you win 70-80% of your games, you increase gradually. If you win 50% of your games, you get stuck at your level, as you should.
How everyone continues to demonize the most perfect ranking system out of any Halo game is beyond me. If I’m not mistaken, that ranking system kept players coming back for 3 years after the game was released with populations consistency 300-400,000 players deep. I doubt that H5’s population is even 40,000 with as many frustrated players as there are.
To my understanding, starting December some of our ranks will be reset every month. Each season (1 month long) will offer rewards to players that reach a certain rank.

I called it harsh because there was no leniency for being stuck with noob team mates. At the same time though, it forced you to get better at the game to counter them. Harsh, but makes you a better player.
