Over the past couple of years, and especially 2015, games have been pushing graphics over all else and it has led to an abundance of shiny yet hollow games. I don’t know what I would call it (The Battlefront effect, CoDification, or maybe even Ubisoft disease) but regardless of what it is called, it needs to stop. Here are some examples below of both beautiful looking empty hollow games, good looking boring games, and some that are good looking and good.
Note: A good looking game is something argued to be subjective and that may be so but in this case I am including some obvious games that I presume most would agree with.
Star Wars Battlefront: 72 critic score and 4.9 user score; Destiny: 86 critic score and 5.6 user score; What do these games have in common? They are beautiful looking games but are so hollow you could mistake them for a Halo ring. - Call of Duty: Black Ops III critic score 81 and user of 4.6; Not much needs explaining here. The game looks good but Campaign, Zombies, and multiplayer is mixed to say the least. - Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate: Critic score of 78 and user score 5.9; As you notice the graphics don’t make you say “Wow” like the ones up top did initially but they also have more to offer, like a decent story. - Xenoblade Chronicles X with a 84 critic score and a 8.9 user score; The graphics aren’t great but it makes up for it in a massive world with a lot to do. - The Witcher 3 with a 93 critic score and 9.1 user score (PC); It is a game that is both beautiful and content-filled. (Which is starting to become the anomaly in video games)
My point is that you, 343i, should not be abandoning everything else for the sake of graphics alone. Please find a better ratio. Obviously you are in a situation to “push” the Xbox One to make a point for Microsoft and the only way to really show that to most is through “pretty colors” but that isn’t the right way, it isn’t even the smart way.
343i, please sacrifice graphical fidelity just this once and make Halo 6 a content heavy, feature rich, and immersive game AT Launch.
Halo 5 graphics doesn’t wow me to be honest. This is coming from a guy who was wowed by Halo 4 graphics. They just sacrifice both graphics and contents for that precious 60 FPS.

When I loaded up the game and dropped into the first level, my jaw just dropped at how great it looked. I agree with the OP though. The story seemed like an extended spartan ops that they didn’t spend much time on. Luckily, the gameplay was a lot of fun and the story was still “solid” overall. Its just obvious after playing that it could have been so much better.

What… I actually wonder what you do in those missions to make them seem longer for you. It took me 4-6 hrs on Heroic… That’s the average normal difficulty play through on the previous games.
Truth, Regret, Eden, Empire, The rig, Plaza, Overgrowth, Coliseum, Fathom, Escape from ARC, Raid on Apex 7, March on Storm break, Battle of Noctus, And 4 forge canvases. I count 17.

Ah yes. Halo has always had a strong use of dancing, fireball attacks and double jumping.
Gameplay wise Destiny is what Halo 5 should run the hell away from.

Destiny is utterly poor. Battlefield is so repetitive, I can’t even be bothered to play it anymore. Black Ops 3 is just twitch gameplay turned up to 12 in the hopes of keeping Red Bull fueled ADHD 13 year olds playing. Wake up. Or go to sleep, actually. All of those energy drinks are bad for you.

This part I don’t agree with. Campaign, Nightmare mode, Multiplayer with actually maps that aren’t reskins, zombies, and freerun. Not sure what you mean by a low amount of content.

Yepp. Graphics are barely better than H4, if at all in some places.

Those features are hardly huge. Okay, so maybe saying Halo 5 has more content than Black Ops 3 isn’t terribly accurate, but I don’t think it’s got a ton of content compared to what we should be getting for the amount we pay.

I can’t speak for Blops3 but anybody who claims destiny or battlefront to be better than halo Mp wise is just being ridiculous destiny’s multiplayer is just retarded for starters,
