343i need to learn from Bungie on their forums.

I’m not a Destiny fan, I hate destiny, but there is something I love about it, and it’s the support Bungie gives to their community with weekly patches, updates and lightning fast responses on their forums from community members.
It would be nice if 343i upped their support game and help make halo 5 a much better game.
I mean, just make a post on any category and within a minute you get a response.
343 pls

Many 343I community managers and employees comment here.

And there is usually weekly updates in the form of the Community update or Cannon Fodder found in the blog section of this site

I know but, look at how popular destiny is because of it.
With community interaction, you can make a crap game 7th on xbox live.

Also. Idk what destiny forums you go to. But the official Destiny forums are an even worse pit of scum and villainy then this place. Like you take the people who complain here and multiply it 10x and there are the destiny forums.

It became a unreliable place to gather information.

I’d say it’s the same. Bungies community managers both get -Yoink- on and made fun of and then you find people questioning Bungies every move from adding skill based matchmaking to nerfing whatever they nerf and having a lack of variety in playlists, ect ect. The best one I saw was when deej made a joke to some dudes forum post and actually posted his response joke in an update and boy did people lose their mind. I’m talking about it being so bad people actually had a petition to get him removed or else they’d stop playing destiny cuz it showed “bungie could care less about their fans”.

pathetic that they don’t reply on their OFFICIAL forum on their OFFICIAL website.343i just don’t care what the community think

Yeah well, for someone who’s not a Destiny fan, it seems like you’re pushing the idea a little hard. & in the end. Microsoft controls Halo as much if not more than 343I.

He means udates as in bug fixes and patches. And the fact that we have to go outside the official Halo forums just to get some developer interaction is pretty sad.

That’s not entirely true. Bungie responded on the forums, but more often than not… they thought they knew better than we knew about what we wanted. It wasn’t until after everyone’s season passes were up that Bungie finally pulled their heads out of their -Yoinks!- because their population disappeared and they were too blinded by their own ego to know why. They sent out emails to a bunch of members on the forum to ask to fill out surveys to find out why everyone left and what it would take to come back. It wasn’t until after that, that they made changes for the better and actually started listening to their community.

You shouldn’t have to go outside the official Halo forums to talk with the developers. Also, though some of it is toxic, the community regularly contributes to it and promotes community creations and youtube channels. While 343 on the other side leaves the forum to whither in favor of reddit when it’s not even their site.

Have you seen the people on this forum? 50% of the threads are complaining, demanding, or straight bashing the game before they’re locked, and that’s just Halo 5. LEt’s not talk about what happened during MCC.

If I had the choice, I wouldn’t be a representative of 343i here either.

Yeah, and some of us don’t even care about Reddit. I prefer the traditional forum experience - it’s easier on the eyes, easier to navigate, etc., and I don’t need to make a million accounts and usernames and passwords just so I can access all these different sites - just one per game franchise. Plus, it makes it seem a lot less “official”, using Reddit, a third-party site. Even my favorite MMORPG right now, Guild Wars 2, has their devs post a lot on Reddit, while I am faithfully sticking to their official forums. At least it seems that GW2 devs post in the official forums more often than 343i devs do here (not an attack against 343i!).

343i is not taking care of halo correctly they ingore the community but they get nothing good out of it. Honestly i think that they shouldn’t have touched halo if they were just gonna change everything. I think that they should’ve made their own game

How I imagine it when a 343I member post on these forums.
Exactly. Every time I see a 343I member address a issue here on the forums. It turns into a 343I bash thread. Where everyone attacks the employee who is trying to help the community. With the thread being locked soon after.

On Reddit. The Mods are able to delete and ban extremely negative and harmful post while keeping the tread and useful information on the forefront.

I’ve lurked on these forums for years now and have seen several attempts of Bravo and several other 343I community managers try to make a presence here in the forums. But it always ends up the same.

It starts off with the community thanking the 343I member taking notice of an issue and giving useful information. Then the haters arrive and attack the players who are talking nice to the 343I members, telling them that they are all suck ups and then attack the 343I members.

The thread then turns into a hateful flame war with the thread being locked and several accounts being band.

Happens every single time. Explains why we mostly see 343I active on Reddit, where it doesn’t promote the toxic community the Halo Waypoint festers. (The mods have done an amazing time cleaning up the sub reddit. When MCC came out, the atmosphere was more toxic then The Halo and Destiny forums combined)

I would love for 343I to openly show back up here in the forums openly. (You know they are here in shadow accounts and don’t respond openly to prevent hate threads from cropping up) But until the Waypoint community starts acting like the Reddit community and just post actual informative threads instead of “This is my opinion why Halo sucks with 343I” threads. It isn’t going to happen.

Destiny isn’t popular because a staff member occasionally posts on their garbage forums. What the other guy linked is community interaction, and 343 occasionally posts here as well. You aren’t making any sense.

Dude, before making thses claims and go look through the forums, they do reply to topics that are actually VALID. As for the “oh 343 doesn’t listen boohoo” crap look at the conent we have because the majority of our fanbase consists of whiny kids who act like spoiled brats.

Back when I played Destiny regularly (up through TTK), I also frequented the #Help forums on Bungie.net. And I can tell you from personal experience, Bungie employees replied with about as much frequency as 343i employees reply here. Unless that has changed since the months I stopped helping in #Help, I wouldn’t say Bungie reps are any better about responding directly to player issues that 343i (except for Cosmo, but he responds to feedback, not tech issues).
