343i, Music in Halo 5 is so important!!!!!

343i, Most Halo fans were extremely disappointed at a few things in Halo 4. We want the original Halo music back or pull a ‘Halo Wars’ and just remix the music to fit the games personality. Without the damn Monks singing, the game is nothing. If anyone who didn’t play Halo 4 heard that music, they would have no idea what game it came from. Compared the ‘High Charity Suite’ from Halo 2/3 that everyone knows. The music in Halo 4 was great it’s just not ‘Halo’ music. Music and campaign is the whole game for me. Since you killed off my favorite character, if I don’t see the Ark/Halo rings or the original music, I’m going to have to switch my favorite game to TitanFall once it comes out. Please 343i, I beg you, get your new composer to get Marty back and bring back the feeling of playing Halo with the music. If you can’t replicate the gameplay of the old Halo’s, at least bring back some things we all want that will help:
-MUSIC!!!
-Familiar places (Ark, Halo’s, New Mombassa)
-Familiar people (Dr. Halsey, Lord Hood, Arbiter, Ship Master)
-Familiar gameplay (Classic Playlist, Firefight, Old Forge)

Your job as the people who took over Halo is to improve and manifest Halo, not destroy it and create a new one in your image.

Thanks 343i for listening (reading). I love y’all, don’t make me leave. Please.

No. That’s not even remotely true.

While it is true that Halo 4’s music is certainly different from the original, it’s just incorrect to come out and say that it isn’t “Halo”. Songs such as 117, Majestic (which even has the Halo Theme in it), Green and Blue, Sacrifice, and Legacy certainly gave that Halo feel to them, and there were also established themes for certain characters (Nemesis is the Didact’s Theme, Green and Blue associates with Cortana, Lasky even has a song dedicated to him, and the Master Chief is portrayed through 117).

So, instead of exploring new corners of the Haloverse, we’re just going to go back to places that we’ve already been to before (The Ark is an exception to that, we need more of the Ark.)

And by Old Forge, do you mean Halo 3’s limited, frustrating, and barely functional version of it? The only good that came out of Halo 3’s Forge was the diversity in Forge objects, otherwise, it was torture and a pain in the -Yoink- to use.

The only Halo music reused was that 5 seconds when we saw the Halo ring on the mission ‘Composer’. That is nothing compared to the new music they produced. I loved the music, but there were no singing monks for music that reminded me of my memories from the past games. Yes, create new music and new gameplay and new forge, but don’t try to get rid of Bungie’s impact and traditions in the series. Just because 343i took over them doesn’t mean we can’t have old stuff.

And yes, people were extremely disappointed in Halo 4. Duh.

Just like in Halo 1, everyone loved revisiting Halo in Halo 3. It would be nice to do that again, not for the same missions but just as a little ode to the old Halo’s. Maybe an easter egg or something but it would be nice. The point of 343i’s Halo, for me, is to expand Halo in a good way and explore new corners of the Haloverse but not to just leave the old Haloverse in the dust. Everyone misses the Arbiter, ShipMaster, Lord Hood, we all want them back because they, along with Cortana and Chief, made Halo, Halo.

With Forge, I mean Halo:Reach. That forge was amazing and we could create amazing content. It was easier to forge, (ForgeWorld) compared to the small–Yoink- maps they give us where we can’t use the landscape to our advantage. There is a reason no one plays custom games anymore compared to Halo 3 and Halo: Reach.

I loved the music too much, I still listen to it on iTunes practically everyday. Do I have any Halo 4 music, no.

Oh boy…

Most fans?

Halo 4’s music is different but brilliant IMHO.

Look, I love John Williams. But do I want him doing every OST?

Nope.

I like diversity. And I think that Halo 4 music is fresh and captures the idea that a new adversary is in play now…

I personally agree with what he says. I’d also like to add that we need something to familiarize with. The campaign in Halo 4 was a great masterpiece of work, but it missed the mark of not a Halo game, but the title Halo 4. I just really want the music if nothing else! I probably won’t change favourite games but I definitely won’t buy the new ones, instead i’ll just watch online gameplay.

I mean, I love what they are doing and all, but I think that the music at the very least stay true to the music. After Cortana died the only thing that made me even more sad was when the Never Forget track (It think its called) came on in the credits and it just added the depressing stage… in a good way. There can be more music and different music, as long as we can still have original music come on a few times during the game to give us the old feel.

Please 343, you did a great job and I’m not criticizing, but I know that I and many friends would love to hear more of the epic original music.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope that you take it into consideration with the new games.

The music in Halo 4 was very Halo, it just wasn’t incorporated into the game as well as it could have been. My only real grievance was the chanting common in every main Halo game not being present in Halo 4’s menu.

I think an excellent example of how to handle future Halo soundtracks is Tom Salta’s score for Halo: Spartan Assault. It managed to capture the iconic Halo sound while still including a mix of new styles from the Reclaimer saga. The Arbiter’s “theme” from Halo 2 appeared in the track “Castle Defense”, the Reach score was referenced in “Eliminate The Resistance”, and the original Halo theme appeared several times throughout the album.
When I’m playing CE on my laptop, I often listen to the Spartan Assault soundtrack in place of the original score. It’s a perfect replacement.

IMO, that’s how H5G’s soundtrack should sound- A pleasant mix of the classic sound and the newer styles introduced in H4.

To say that it is not even remotely true, is untrue. Whilst I doubt people were extremely disappointed with Halo 4’s music, I’m pretty sure the majority preferred the past titles more.
