To start off I want to say that I don’t agree with leaks. ESPECIALLY WHEN E3 IS A WEEK AWAY! All these leaks and locking of youtube videos wouldn’t have happened if they just would’ve done a public beta. The microsoft employee that is leaking the videos and shooting videos in a barn wouldn’t happened if they would’ve made it public. Now Microsoft is being embarrased even to the point where one of the leaks states the agreement of participating in the beta. Thats sad. I think being all private wasn’t such a good idea.
They didn’t do a beta because it was not part of their schedule, and it would have set things back a bit, as well as they needed everyone to be working on halo 4, and they would have needed to split up their group to make one. Not to mention that most of the beta players only play a beta just to play it, and not to find bugs.
Leaks would have come out anyway, I really do not see how one relates to the other.

Yes the leaks were dissappointing. I tryed to refrain from looking at any. I started to watch one but descided I couldn’t do it. E3 is a week away why spoil anything now? But all that’s not necesarrily 343’s fault It’s the SOB that leaked the footage’s fault. 343 didn’t expect somebody from Microsoft to betray them. It’s not their fault. They just wanted to not split up their resources (which would have happened so there could be a beta) so they could make a better game. So don’t go right off and blame 343, sure it backfired on them but still.
Just another guy whining for not getting his beta…
Leaks were bound to happen, regardless if they were to do a beta or not. Many other games, even if they did have a beta, got stuff leaked out that wasn’t there in the Beta.
It’s going to happen, especially with games that are highly anticipated to rock.

Two things:
#1 OH BOO WHOO, there is no public beta.
#2 Not true, it’d still happen.
> The microsoft employee that is leaking the videos and shooting videos in a barn wouldn’t happened if they would’ve made it public.
Again, it would still happen. Also, Public beta is not needed, and a waste of time, because people treat it as a demo.

Who ever that beta tester is, he/she is most likely no longer a beta tester for any future projects. A private beta is still a million times better than a public beta, or as the community’s logic, a Public demo.
Honestly I think 343i released that leak to build excitement for E3.
Betas aren’t necessary, even with a beta stuff could have been leaked. Gears had beta, it’s campaign got leaked. Granted the two are different play modes but still your logic is shot.

Halo 3’s game play got leaked before and after the PUBLIC beta, Halo Reach got leaked before and after the PUBLIC beta.
But wait, OP might be one of those people who think that MP is the ONLY game mode in Halo, which means he thinks that gameplay from MP would never get leaked if there was public beta, but in reality, game play from both MP and Campaign will still get leaked. We’ve seen it happen many times over.
