343i maybe you should change Halo's lead writer?

Yes they should make Greg the lead writer, or maybe make John Shirley Temple the Lead writer.

This has gotta be a joke, right?

We know nothing about Halo 5’s story. I don’t know how you can already be asking them to change the writer.

Just seems like such an ignorant, pointless topic to have when A) it is already way too late to change the writer; and B) WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HALO 5’S STORY.

Then you say “ok maybe for Halo 6…” lol again, without knowing a lick about Halo 5’s story. Amazing.

Because the examples of his writing we do have are awful.

Yeah you know what, lets try and contact Yu Suzuki.

I realize it is too late for Halo 5’s writing department to be changed, but if Halo 5’s story isn’t good, that will have been the third time the Lead Writer department has messed up. If Halo 5’s story is less than decent, Halo 6 needs a new lead writer.

I would have more faith in Halo 5 Guardians story if it was going to be written by the same guy who wrote Halo 4 (Chris Schlerf who did a fantastic job), but the current lead writing department isn’t doing such a great job so far.

Fortunately, Joseph Staten (Bungie’s lead writer during the Halo Trilogy I believe) has returned to Microsoft, so there is a CHANCE (not necessarily likely) that he could return to Halo and be Halo 6’s lead writer. This is the best case scenario.

> “I feel that perhaps if Joe Staten, who has been hired by Microsoft should take place as 343i’s lead writer, so he can give Halo 5: Guardians’ campaign a wonderful story. Joe Staten gave the original Halo Trilogy a fantastic story, and now that he is back with Microsoft, him transfering over to 343i would be easy. Another alternative, would be to get Chris Schlerf back as lead writer, as he gave Halo 4 a beautiful story full of emotion. A story so good, that articles were written about his work. Either way, 343i, please ensure that Halo 5: Guardians tells a fantastic story, with emotion, and a good moral at the end. Just like Halo 4 did.”

This

Joe Staten returning would be the best thing to happen to Halo since the days of Halo 3 and Reach

Joseph Staten is writing an upcoming Halo novel so he is at least involved in the franchise. It’s likely he will become involved with the story process for Halo 6 especially considering his novel comes out after Halo 5.

And seems like he likely did the voice of the grunt for the new MCC commercial
MCC grunt ad

Apparently just for this book, however, and it is going to be released at the end of the year after Halo 5 ships.

I would LOVE for Staten to come back as lead writer, but as of now he’s only writing a book. So I don’t want to get my hopes up that for sure he’s going to become 343i’s Halo writer. This is the best case scenario, but not garunteed. I hope so though

I’m aware of this. I only stressed the significance of him working on Halo again, in any capacity.

I write for them that would be new.
You would love my stories they are so out of the usual you would believe Im an alien.

I don’t know how and where you get the info that halo 5 has a bad story.
Did you read AND see it?
I mean the visual is also very important.
You can have a lousy visual writer and a gifted novel writer its no guarantee for anything.
It both has to match.
Only cause you think one part is bad does not mean all is.
You dont know how well things can look when they are balanced out.

I think you are taking a too big bite of all this.
I think it is totally disrespectful to write a thread like this here.
I mean what is it that you have to think you can do this?
I mean you clearly go after one person.
I dont know who you talk about since I dont care who does write what as long as it is great in the end.
I liked spartan assault, I dont read comics I like movement more then frozen images.

Here is what I think, you have a biased view on things.
You clearly favor the person that left.
You must be heartbroken he left since he was your hero or something like that its seems like.
Sorry for you but he left thats it.
You say your self a new writer would be good.
Well how about you look at things to the end.
It is a total different thing to write a comic or a story for a game.
So what if the person also prefers animation over frozen images and bubble text?
Do you really wanna complain before you saw it?
Its odd on the one hand you want a new writer, on the other it can only be one that is a copy of a person that left.
All others are not accepted by you lol
Man you clearly have an issue with artist expressions.
Please I do NOT want robot artists.
I welcome experimental creativity.
So whoever does what I hope he keeps doing it and rub some awesome eye and ear candy in your face (:

H4’s story could’ve been better. Think about it. It was just too ironic that a few hours after the Chief crashes onto some random planet, the largest ship just happens to be heading to the same place. It would’ve been better with the Chief having to survive on his own for awhile. Comandeering Covenant weapons/vehicles or salvaging weapons from the Forward Unto Dawn wreckage would’ve been cool. Its just that we haven’t seen the Chief survive on his own much. We’ve seen him go in a few places alone for a short time, but nothing long term. From what I can gather from H5 though, it seems he will be rogue through the 1st part of the campaign.

Sort of like how Cortana just coincidentally punched in coordinates that just happened to lead to Alpha Halo?
Sort of like how the Covenant just happened to find Earth and did not expect humanity to be on it?
Sort of like how the Covenant just happened to find Delta Halo out of the blue?
Coincidence and Halo go together like PB and J.

Actually, its interesting

all these “coincidences” are lore wise explained.

The librarian planted out all these coincidences to happen in Chief and Cortanas gene song. She planed for them both…

If I am correct?

I thought Halo 4s story was masterfully done for me it was the best single-player experience by far.

Looking back, it’s hilarious how prophetic the OP was.
