I also believe that the Community doesn’t either. I think most of the negativity stems from the notion that you aren’t listening to or acknowledging issues people have with the game. I am personally waiting for any indication for a classic halo playlist, while many people are upset with custom game options, forge options, file browser or responding to the latest news about the CSR being waypoint only. I truly want you to succeed because I love Halo and understand this was your first real shot at making a game as a studio. I hate to say it, but maybe you could take a cue from Bungie and be a little more active with your community.
Amen, brotha. I hate how everyone on here has to go out and bash 343. Taking over Halo obviously isn’t the easiest thing. Halo 4 is a great game. Just give 343 time to learn and listen from the community.
I don’t take those kids seriously. They only complain because they had a bad day playing Halo 4, and blame it on the developers. You just can’t trust them, they will obviously return again, and again. Their “threats” mean nothing.
Well first they must communicate in order to learn. Some don’t realize, but the serious halo fans bashing 343 endlessly know halo best, and many are begging 343 for things that should have been in Halo 4 from the beginning.343 keeps trying to say they are seeing what is best, when countless people have described in amazing detail on what they want, with hard fact’s to back everything up.Yet with all this feedback, nothing, just nothing has been said or even have signs that show anyone in 343 are even seeing this feedback.
Notice that 343 have not been posting or responding in the Halo 4 forums but instead on a different website or vaguely in the Halo waypoint forums. If a captain on a ship in the 1600’s did this, there would have been mutiny.
And what makes someone a “serious” Halo fan, son? Play Halo since Halo: CE?
lol, if anything, that’s just a sad excuse. Trying to gain respect just because you played a game before someone else.
I still have faith in Halo, it could be made much better than it is now. I only wish we were given some serious reassurance that changes were being made and our requests are being met.
I don’t mean everyone asking for a visible CSR ranking system and 343 providing one on waypoint as a “solution”.
I’m talking about a serious, accurate statement regarding what they’re doing. We don’t need any surprises or anything else, we need to know what’s going to happen to one of our favorite game series.
YummyYummYum, there is a lot more to the situation than most are aware of. There are tons of us constantly scouring the forums, and yes, outside places, too, making sure we get a pulse on what the Halo community feels.
It is nearly impossible for us to answer every, single question in the forums since there are literally thousands of posts per day.
Some of our slower-moving forums such as “Halo Waypoint” will shed more light on an employee post since the topics don’t move as quickly as the Halo 4 section, for example. That doesn’t mean we are here.
To assume that we aren’t here is a great disservice to yourself. We see your thoughts. We see your ideas. Does that mean all will come to fruition? No. Does that mean a change will occur in a matter of days? Hardly. But we always value the opinions of the community.
Also note that this particular forum, while huge, represents a tiny portion of the entire community, and we have more means that a forum post to gather data and information. Not to mention that collecting said data often takes more time than you may think to make sure we get the information right.
As far as what we are up to, well you do know:
- File Share (In-game Search online the 29th, Web coming in Feb.)
- CSR - Announced for April
- Majestic Map Mack - Small maps, oh so small! February
- The addition of Grifball & Team Doubles (plus the Community Forge Test playlist to get more small maps to you)
- TU coming next month - details will be released after the TU is live to not inform people of exploits
- web fixes and other general support
This is just what’s in the pipeline for right now. Are we working on other things? Absolutely. I’m speaking to playlists and such - don’t see your favorite above? Doesn’t mean we don’t hear you loud and clear.
Again, though, anything you’d like to say, please do.

Thanks for posting this. I know you guys are watching the forums and it must be frustrating for you to see all the negativity here and misinformed comments.
You and I both know that the vast majority of the hundreds of thousands of people playing the game regularly do so because it’s a fantastic game and they really enjoy it.

Thank you for taking the time for replying in this thread to give some of the populous some hope, and although I do not agree with Yum on everything I do agree that the community has given a lot of consistent feedback when it comes to a visual in game ranking system (VIGRS).
So many, many, many of us just wanted a ranking system like Halo 3’s, or Halo 2’s (Even though I do not believe it is possible to do a RS like Halo 2’s ever again) and we will probably never see that again, and with that a large chunk of the population will never be seen again.
I wish you and the rest of 343i the best of luck with what Halo is now, and here’s to hoping it isn’t too late for you guys.
I know you guys are watching and listening…it’s just the spoiled little brats that expect to get what they want the day after they make the suggestion lol…

This forum is the only community.
The other individual casuals don’t care about Halo.
By listening to this community, you would be able to forge something unique.

I would like to add that you (343i) are very slow into giving information/release content.
I have no idea of how much work it needs to prepare things like these, but i’m pretty sure that 3 months for solving the File Share issue is a lot, 6 months to add any meaning to winning (CSR) is a lot, 3 months to add forged maps into MM (1 was on disk, 1 month from the creation of the maps) is a lot, there’s still no words on a ‘Classic’ playlist nor we have any idea of what happened to ‘Slayer Pro 2’ (doesn it need so much time to fix a gametype with all the competitive settings that came out in the meantime?).
I’m sure you are working hard removing gliches, bugs, delivering DLCs and SO episodes but that’s not enough, at least compared to how Bungie delivered the content…we had almost everything on D1, once in a while they delivered a lot of content all at the same time (Playlists/ TUs) and that was a better option in my opinion.

Halo 4 is a great game but could’ve been so much better. That’s why people complain, when a game that’s been with many people from their childhoods and teenage years continually get’s worse matchmaking, custom games, forge and theater wise.
I don’t hate 343 i just lost alot of respect for them releasing a game promising “halo’s going back to its roots” and not giving us the option to make classic halo in custom games and forcing us to play with instant respawn, sprint, flinch and no assault, classic race and classic infection
The only reason I still have some respect for 343 is my passion for Halo, my hatred for Call of Duty and this quote.
> “We have a lot to learn. We made a lot of mistakes. We can do better. And we know this, and we will. But I don’t want to spend the first moments of the year thinking about the negatives, because frankly, I am incredibly proud of both the team and the game that team created.”-Frankie
Thankyou rukizzel with the fire of one thousand suns for your post. I think thats all the community ever really wanted, was an acknowledgement, like a friend showing appreciation to another friend.
I have complete and total faith in 343, I prefer them to Bungie now. I LOVE the new Spartan Ops, so much better than Firefight. I love campaign, the graphics on this whole game are next gen.
I’ve already bought the map pass pack but will continue to purchase more Halo 4 content as it gets released so please keep updating the game. Like you said, progress can be slow at times but like a famous painter once said, you can’t rush a masterpiece.

So it’s impossible to tell us details without listing the exploits? lol k.

Thanks for posting that information. Excited to hear about the other stuff you guys have planned
Nah, I hate Halo 4.
And to the 343 employee who posted in this thread, yeah, thanks for telling us you guys are not working on Custom Games. Sure, just leave that quarter of the Halo population out. Pathetic.

Then sell the game, and dont every come back to the forums. Maybe someone who cant afford to play, well be able to buy your used copy. We dont need your kind of bs around here.
