343i has shown their true colors and is now using the title of HALO as a cash grab

A reminder to all here, these are peoples opinions and nothing is right or wrong, stop trying to take the high ground and say that players are entitled, and stop trying to take the high road and call people shills.
THESE ARE OPINIONS.
There is tons wrong with the game but dont let that divide players into groups against eachother.
There are people on here who will defend their stance until they die so theres no point trying to change their opinion, just move on

You are always here to bring down people for their opinions, but i want to know how you would fix the system we currently have?
Or are you of the opinion that this is fine for halo?

I agree with you 100%

I do agree with a few of your points including the memories and this not being what I expected.

However, to be honest I had mixed reactions because the gameplay is the absolutely amazing. I have connected with people from fireteams I haven’t played with in years. you will never understand how much that means to me.

After playing this game for a while consistently through both progression systems I felt as though the battle pass/progression system and the game teams are different. the love and care that went in to making the game can be felt with every plasma stick I make. Using a grappling hook is satisfying when you understand the mechanics I can’t help, but smile.

Someone who put that much time and effort into making me feel that way more than likely feels the same way. you can’t make this experience artificially you have to truly appreciate this Halo to keep those new mechanics flush with the old.

Believe me when I tell you I can list many other examples of how the team has gone out of their way to be transparent including putting out blogs, news articles, youtube videos, etc. Not to mention this is the first time in years that I have felt like I am in the Halo universe. I can play with all my friends, I watch side stories about how 117 came to be, I see media everywhere for it, toys, etc. I feel immersed once again and that’s a great feeling.

The best reminder is the statement that the team made. something to the affect of ā€œthe team is on vacation for the holidays and will address the battle pass soon…in the short term here is something to get you startedā€. I for one can see the time and energy they put into the game.

It’s also why I see conglomerate written all over the battle pass. We all saw the video where they said that playing the game would unlock things. No one wants to be made to look like a liar in the public’s eye so i don’t think anyone at 343I would be in such a rush to contradict themselves and so soon after announcing the game.

The game is still in beta and will be out for 10 years. if it came out perfect day 1 then how would it last. So far for a BETA. It is amazingly fun I would rather have a working game then a working battle pass. We should make our voices heard, but let’s make sure that it’s pointed at the right people.

Reading this forum post is so strange especially since a Halo infinite did bring a bunch of new players into the Halo world (which is fantastic!) not just us old Halo 2/3 salts. But all this talk about cosmetics and how the game is corrupt and etc etc, but so far this is the first Halo game in a while that has impressed me both gameplay, mechanics and balance. I remember that in Halo 2 days and even Halo 3 (for me at least since cosmetics were not really important) all I cared about was my generic looking Spartans either red or blue and how much fun the game was. I think it’s a culture change in games these days we’re you NEED cosmetics and rewards to enjoy a game, but I remember when arena shooters were popular for the experience. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and it’s great the Halo community is becoming so active again , but to say that Halo is going downhill or 343 is ā€œextremely corruptā€ or whatever just because cosmetics on your spartan model (especially since the multiplayer is free) is quite a stretch. But whatever I’ve been playing Halo for an eternity so maybe I am biased.

  1. This is a beta. They are gauging the interest in multiple avenues, including the purchases.
  2. The amount spent on the team armor is split between the teams, and 343i. They use this money for the tournaments.
  3. You have not even let them get out of the beta and offer items for achievements, inside special gametypes/activities, it’s literally a BETA. You are complaining when it’s not even officially out.

I’ve been with Halo since the beginning. When CE was still on the original Xbox, and they sold the green see-through xbox that I purchased. I was raised with Halo, and will continue to be a fan. If you think accusing them of using Halo for a cash grab is going to have them listen to you specifically, I high doubt that will help your viewpoints. You garnered some attention from the fanbase, but I doubt it will end in the way you are hoping.

Remember, everyone nowadays is used to being given things for free when they complain, or try to garner the support of the fanbase. They are making plenty of moves, dedicating servers for free to multiplayer, extra time spent making the game, betas/technical previews, etc. But they don’t see that. They are selfish and thinking of themselves and what other games give, so they think they can pressure 343i into the same thing. It’s saddening to see Halo turn into crying snowflakes.

Like I said it’s great to see the community active but damn it is true that people complain on some silly stuff that aren’t actually game breaking. I have been with Halo since the beginning as well but to me Halo is just a game to boot up and hear the announcer yell out those great double or triple kill announcements. With all the new players that are more used to COD or all these cosmetic heavy games I can see where they would see a gripe with the game but to say the game is trash or ā€œunplayableā€ is ridiculous. 343 has been doing so much in a BETA stage like you mentioned and the multiplayer just came out. It’s also free and basic business principles dictate that for a free game to be funded there has to be some sort of income. I mean if you can’t play a game because you can’t get a flaming skull or some other extra thing is pretty silly . Especially for halo fans that used to run around with their polygon generic spartan models back in the day.

I agree. If you played MCC, they didn’t really add anything to Halo 2, or Halo 2 Anniversary, and that’s what I played. I still played it, because it was fun. Everyone thinks they should have 100s of different things for customization, each individual item needs to be specially colored, or be able to add their own flare… it’s ridiculous that they can’t just be happy with the fact that Halo is about to be out, and they have put a very well crafted game, with tons of fun, and a challenge out for the world to play. Instead they complain about the smallest crap, and then go 'If YoU dOn’T aGrEe YoU’rE a FaNbOy" ← dear god that was hard to type.

Technically, I’m getting the whole package for free because of Game Pass Ultimate.

I’d be so livid right now if I pre-ordered…

Ain’t that the truth! And I am sorry you had to type that :joy:

If I think opinions are harmful to discourse then yes, I will criticize that person.

As for what I’d, ā€œFix?ā€ I don’t know. That’s a pretty broad question and I don’t think you and I would have our concerns align a whole lot.

I don’t think the game is perfect by any means but I’m pretty happy with where it is right now.

I stopped playing halo multiplayer when Reach came out, but have you played MCC? Halo CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3 - which are the ones I play (mostly halo 3) have a ton of customization. I didn’t use customization in halo until MCC obviously and it is pretty cool. There is way more than there is in infinite and you just need to buy the game.

Don’t get me wrong I understand that this is the new COD warzone-like system and I’m willing to buy items. However, the problem with infinite is the lack of armor combinations and the extremely high prices.

I think the progression and monetization as it is now exists only so that 343i can later change them to be more player friendly later and bask in all the praise and glory about how they listen to feedback from the community.

It doesn’t take much deductive reasoning to identify how different Reach was. 343 was the part of Bungie that stayed with Halo and Reach was Bungie’s last Halo. Do you gnome what I’m sayin’ Revan?

Im just not going to buy anything except the game, any unlockables ill wear. Cant get a new helmet till 85 or so oh well. 343 isn’t forcing you to buy anything but I’d like a main progression with independent XP,EXP separate from the battle pass with military rank exactly like that game MCC. 343 needs some pointers from those guys over at 343. experience is currently tokens, credits are like the reqs ,only you cant earn them. Ranked ranking is solid though still needs more game types for every play list( bet the challenge swaps have something to do with it)

Im in full agreement i believe most if not all the cosmetics should be free. However i do think having a store to buy stuff would be nice at the same time i believe they should make an alternate challenge or something like that so you can obtain these items freely.

I give you props for doing this but sad to say that’s kinda the norm now ā€œI don’t care bout your opinion my opinion is fact yours is false end of story change your mind or be spat onā€

Yeah but 343 wasn’t formed until AFTER OG Reach launched, therefore OG Reach is a Bungie game.

I couldn’t agree more, halo is my baby, wtf are they doing to it?
I’ve put down the game for now but will return when things become more player-friendly. And to anybody who says they need to make money someway, how about I pay for the FULL game of halo infinite instead if downloading it for free. I want to earn it, just like the previous games…
