‘Screw the players’ is clearly top priority in their monetization scheme. This is disgraceful.

Agreed. I’m more than happy to put up for a Battle Pass. But I won’t be spending another cent on the title.

Yes, he left a year before Destiny one released. My point was that things took a turn for the worst and it caused people like Marty and Staten to leave, and a few other left shortly afterward.
One thing I will say though to clear things up in spite of our opinions about whatever is that there are always 3 sides to a story.
Let’s say, Marty, then there is the company, and then we have the truth to what actually took place that none of us will ever know what actually took place behind closed doors. We can only go off of what has been shown to us, and that is usually when our opinion kicks in.

If the game was a cash grab, where is the unfinished gameplay and massive game breaking bugs? Outside the battle pass, xp and store, Infinite is amazing

This. Game is fun and that’s what matters to me.
It is sad to see the monetization tact onto what would be the best MP in Halo.
I just stopped bothering. I have zero interest in this progression, nor i plan on spending money on it. Gears of war pulled the same thing, and it turned me off the series pretty quick, and seems halo is going down that way too. I mean i get it, its a business , and they need money, but man they dropped the ball hard at how they went at it.

Gears of War did this too? Ok, this is probably not a 343i issue at all, it’s probably all Microsoft, they own both franchises. Heck, after Microsoft bought ZeniMax, you were able to buy the cosmetics in DOOM Eternal…
Wait, there was a point in time where Halo - or any game for that matter - wasn’t a cash grab? Dang, bring back that charitable Halo I missed out on, then. I’ve been an avid fan and player since day one but I must’ve missed the day when the objective of Bungie, 343, and Microsoft wasn’t to make money.
Pretty sure what you mean to say is that you disagree with the manner in which they’ve chosen to make their money. That’s fine, you can have that opinion.
But you know what’s in terribly short supply? Solutions. I see a lot of “Boycott this!” and “This is terrible!” that, but never any ideas on how to fix it or make it better.
I’m not suggesting the current system is perfect but man, paid cosmetics that don’t impact gameplay at all is supposed to be a BAD way to monetize the game? I must be getting old, because this used to be considered ideal lol. Now it’s “predatory” or some other word that has lost any and all meaning in this conversation.

I can almost guarantee that Microsoft is 99% of the reason we are receiving this system.
It was very obviously designed by bean counters and implemented by bean counters, Not game devs.
It looks to me like Microsoft is dragging 343 through the dirt and 343 cops the blame.
Theres no chance they made the gameplay that good only to purposefully screw it up with the worst monetisation system in gaming history. It’s definitely the bean counters.

Halo Infinite was looking great, and it plays great, but everything outside an actual match is just awful. I had a bit of money set aside for the game, but I guess I won’t be giving any of it to 343.
They want to copy Fortnite with the battle pass, but they seemed to of forgot that in Fortnite you get a return on investment in vbucks for progressing in the pass. Instead, they pad out the passes with re-rolls and XP grants, so players have longer to wait until they get anything of substance.
I’ve been rooting for 343, and I still am, but this is probably the most I’ve been let down by them.

Here’s the problem. You see it as just a video game. I see it as a cultural touchstone that needs to be protected. It’s like Coke. You ever heard of “New” Coke? Remember how well that went? Google it if not. It did not go well

I actually got a refund for the premium battle pass…was simple and quick online request. I’ll re-up if they fix the mess but don’t like rewarding scummy design decisions.

Oh Lord are there ideas! What I’d like to see them do is take all the armor coatings that could be made with a simple choose your own armor color system and remove them. Gone. Then, add in a bunch of more creative coatings that are more worth paying for. They have artists there. Real artists. They don’t need to be selling black and blue as an armor color scheme. So let them make some real interesting armor colors that you couldn’t make with basic armor color mixing and people will buy them. Then, add in a basic system to choose which armor pieces are which colors. There’s a system that will pull in more players due to less controversy, a system that gives players free expression of colors, and a system that really let’s 343’s artists shine and makes the armor coating system even better and more worth players while. Everybody’s happy

Looks like I’ll be going back to MCC. The other game 343 had to be hassled to fix for years on end. I’ll be encouraging everyone I know not to put any time in this game. You had all the answers to the test 343. You had the talent, the money, the resources, the feedback and you certainly had enough time.

As I was saying…
Free to play and battlepass is most likely something microsoft has demanded.
However, I seriously doubt they’ve also demanded the small details surrounding them, like progressing with challenges, what kind of challenges, how many to progress at one time and so forth
i343 was hiring people to plan and design these kind of things some years ago.
Except they want people feedback, not cussing at them and saying there bad people and want bungie.
Heres my feedback bout infinite, it a good game and yes they do need to tweak stuff like the XP gain still, The prices for stuff in infinite store needs to be lower a bit on it price as it pretty pricy. And couple other thing like add traditional BTB to ensure we can use heavy vehicles alot, instead of playing alot of the new BTB to only get that chance to use them once.
If you want 343 to look at your feedbacks to help improve infinite, just state why needs to be improve and state why in a nice detail description bout it. Not straight up cussing the hell out of them or anything that bashing them or being hostile to them, that would make them discourage to look then cause you all wana be toxic about it like a two and actually explain n not bash them and act like you are the boss of them.
