343i has shown their true colors and is now using the title of HALO as a cash grab

I’d say the only 117 that 343 truly seems interested in is if that is the security code of your credit card.

If you really don’t want to fork out for the battle pass you could always collect Microsoft reward points by playing games and few extras. You can easily get £5-£10 a month which would pay for all your needs and you wouldn’t have to or they wouldn’t get a penny!

You need way more than just $1k to collect all Season 1 customizations. Probably around $3k.

They ruined halo since they took over years ago lol

Just no. Microsoft rewards take time and many of us would rather spend that on other stuff instead of feeling like wasting money on content that should have been part of the base campaign that we ‘paid’ for. The base game has the pvp removed to cater to making it f2p for others just so people can defend it with lazy excuses like “it’s free” but that doesn’t mean we have to like or tolerate it. :unamused:

And many might not… I think it’s down to preference.

I bought the premium battle pass but other than that I haven’t spent any money and I don’t plan to, I’m just so mad and disappointed in the direction they went with this game as far as the battle pass goes. I literally just use a double XP token and I’m still getting 50 XP a match it didn’t even work. meanwhile it takes a while to load in the matches and the XP counter on the ticker continues to go the whole time, so I’m not using those anymore either it’s pointless.

honestly, if they are just more honest about what is in the stroe and what isnt, bring the prices down, and give us a way to earn credits in game, id be fine with it, if the prices are lower poeple are likley gonna buy more stuff.

Lmao. Straight up teenage angst. It’s a video game. Relax.

This whole system needs to be reworked, and it’s not about adjusting battlepass progression. Aside from pro team bundles, everything in this game needs to be unlockable just by playing it.

They should incorporate some way to earn credits into the multiplayer, and maybe we could get additional credits in the campaign because we’re already paying 60 for it (I can dream, right?).

As it is right now, monetization is more aggressive than it has ever been, and I’m pissed off. 343 was so close to having an incredible multiplayer; Infinite’s gameplay loop is my favorite in the series but this is a nasty stain.

100% agree
343 has been using psychological phrases to make people feel involved and important but in reality everything they’re doing shows the exact opposite. None of our opinions actually matter and 343 isn’t interested in giving the fans what they want even though they keep saying it over and over. The game play of infinite has so much potential but the corporate side of things is using the halo brand to reap money from people. Honestly we might be witnessing the death of halo with 343. maybe in 10-15 years some other company will pick halo up out of the mud and give it the comeback it deserves but at this point I’ve lost any hope I had with 343. I see people keep saying they’re waiting for 343 to fix the game… You’re going to be waiting for a very, very long time. everything we say is broken about the game 343 will not change…

I suspect that’s part of the reason waypoint was overhauled. There were an awful lot of predictions on one side of this debate that turned out to be true, and a lot of… “enthusiastic” denials that turned out to be wrong on the other. Now those pesky archives are hidden away, where they can’t disrupt the narrative.

The number of people who told me “its not even out, just wait and see” the last two years was laugable. Probably a ton of crossover with the “it’s just a beta :sob:” crowd.

Everything on the shop is overpriced and stings to see older armor sets locked behind it. Customization has been a staple feature since H3. Even if you don’t really customize your Spartan many others do. There’s no need to antagonize fellow fans labeling them entitled when they will very well buy a full priced game if it meant access to the customizations that we’ve grown attached too in almost every entry before this one.

I know I’m not spending anything on the multiplayer until they fix it. I will buy the Campaign if it’s good though.

I am totally agree with what you said.

You are 100% correct. Developer interests are often directly aligned with publishers. They have equal if not greater interest in sucking up their players wallets.

343 designed and implemented H5’s micro transactions entirely. MS did not mandate the game to have them at all. There is absolutely no reason to believe that Halo infinite and it’s F2P model are a different scenario.

In fact if anything during the spencer era of Xbox MS has been more hands off than ever before.

As for bungie if you take Marty O’Donnell’s word, it’s more like activision converted bungie to be just like them once they showed how much money you can make by being scum.

That was your first mistake putting trust in a business trying to sell you a product in an industry known for rampant exploitation.

Yes! Monetization in Halo 5 was terrible, BUT Infinite is somehow worse with the fact that you can unlock it all just by playing. WAY too much armor are behind a HUGE paywall. It’s insulting, even as someone willing to pay a little extra pass the $60 price of the campaign. I want to spend money, but not spending til things get fixed.
