343i has shown their true colors and is now using the title of HALO as a cash grab

Game pass has a bunch of good games, and it’s not the first time that 343 has screwed up, in fact gamepass saved the xbox and united the players.
343 has been annoying the core players since their first game, but the IP is too big, most people will choose to adapt to 343 or play while scolding.
This time, because of their own delays and infighting so that the game has been delayed many times, and finally handed over a semi-finished game.
They brought it on themselves.
Because their procrastination, inefficiency, and infighting have delayed other xbox first-parties, such as T10.
Comments on the forum defending 343, such as blaming the new engine management, developers and gamepass, now seem to be self-deceiving.
Look at what the 343i has done, half-finished games, broken BTB, three months of no progress and High pricing and empty content.
Recently, they also blamed the network problems on players who changed the host and opened the VPN to lock the server.
Back to the business model you talked about, in fact, 343 is a unique one. They enjoy the right to operate the whole IP, not just to develop games. Their studio is the second largest in xbox.
Their executives are xbox veterans like bonny, and they don’t have a say in the business?
The Sea of Thieves is also a first-party online game. Why don’t they constantly disgust players?
Instead, In the case of the lack of first content, they saved the word of mouth with action and updates.
And what did 343 do? In the early open beta, they opened the cosmetics payment and the total amount of cosmetics is thousands of dollars.
There is no progress and level system in the game.
The whole game revolves around the pass.
Server cannot be selected to force cross-platform.
Their marketing and behavior is really a joke.
Do they deserve to say that gamepass is dragging them down?
The 343i is putting the xbox and halo to shame.

I’ve been playing Halo since the first game and I’ve spent too much time working through the games (and ranks)- only to find with this latest instalment - I have to pay to upgrade. I’ve lost the joy. For the first time in a long time I’m disgusted by the money grab and I won’t be spending a penny on this. Sadly, its time to find another game to spend my hours on. 343 - after 20 loyal years you’ve lost me.

I’m still rocking the default armor and weapons :grinning:

Agreed. There were much better ways they could have approached this being F2P while also having MTX.

-Give “standard” armors that appeared in the last Halos for free. But have color/gear/design variations of those be behind paywalls. I earn Soldier armor, but if I want it with certain attachments or some amazing decor design? I wouldn’t mind paying $5-10 to unlock those.

-Give us standard colors for armors, up to dual-tone, perhaps triple. But if I want a core that has more colors, different designs, or some sort of effect (i…e. glimmer, animated, etc.), I gotta pay for them. Again, wouldn’t mind paying $10 for that.

-Have unique AIs and announcers that people can pay for. It worked in Halo 5.

-Put more monetization on the things like armor effects, deaths, basically all the silly stuff that doesn’t fit what Spartans would actually have. Cat ears was a good example. Complex assassinations could also be grounds for this.

-Do something similar to what Apex does, and allow players to earn an in-game currency that can be used to unlock anything. THAT kind of freedom is one of the best ways to encourage not only gameplay, but also people to buy said currency because of what they can do with it.

… but no, instead they go with this predatory system, and because of that, I’m not giving them a cent. I paid money in Halo 5 because of how accessible things were without it.

I’m filling my Halo time with Apex and Elden Ring now. I’m not giving 343 my attention.

throw in Warframe’s pallet system for customisation and yay, would’ve been a dream come true at least for colour customisation and freedom.

I got every armor in Halo 3 besides Recon, helped my dad get everything in Reach, now I have Infinite where the only things I can get either cost money or are free, boring, and there’s so few of them

I feel 343’s leadership and management are poor, they still didn’t have playable elites, forge is not there at launch, infection, grifball, custom game browser, de sync, and so many other things are not there for launch. They want to bring in the broader audience even though there aren’t that many in Infinite. Many of their staff have been leaving, even though they reduce the prices, they still use awful microtransactions, the armor coatings are awful, 343 is vague to hide the truth to us and their way of saying “don’t worry, all will be revealed” in order to trick us into believing in them. Has poor communication, makes poor lore excuses of why the flood or playable elites are not there due to multiplayer being a canon simulation for Spartans which is a “Spartans story”. Fun Fact: 343 originally was composed of anti-halo fans who change Halo the way COD people and other gaming fans like it and turned out to be the most controversial changes they have been making since Halo 4. If they’re hiring people for the jobs, they need to find people who are competent and love the Halo Franchise since the day Halo Combat Evolved released in 2001. I just find 343 to be usually vague to mislead people. Here’s an example. If you were to ask 343 if the flood is gonna be in Infinite, they’ll usually respond “I cannot deny neither confirm” hyping people into making speculation that they’ll make a surprise appearance. You’re not gonna assume the flood are not gonna be there. If the Flood is not gonna be there, 343 would’ve answered “The flood are probably not gonna be there”. But that’s not what 343 does. They’re intentionally vague to mislead people.

I would assume that the that 343 emplyees doesn’t have any bad intentions towards Halo and that there goal is to make the game as good as possible within the given constraints. However, my guess is that many of these issues revolve around issues like the difficulties to find a good ideas, time constraints and increased expectations. The first of these factors is pretty obvious due to the fact that it’s pretty difficult to build something if you don’t have a clear endpoint and this do especially affect established gaming franchises where there is a constant demand for new games/experiences. Due to this, there may exist a pressure at 343 Industries to produce something despite the fact that the product hasn’t passed the essential pre-development phase.

Nope! E3 2022 already confirmed cancelled. Blows.

Yup proba my cus every dev saw how Well Elden ring did and were like Dang,

How are going to release incomplete games and Microtransaction the game together.

Seriously Halo Infinite just feels like they took Halo 5 And MCC grabbed all the content and put it behind a paywall and time gate wall.

How in the hell did 343 think it was a great idea to go from 60 default color options. Say to the Halo community we are taking away color options but the coating system will be better

Than proceed to only give Ayers 10 of those default colors and try to pass off the other 60 as premium content to be sold to players…

God I know it sounds trivial but that right there seriously Bothered me. Like I was just sitting thinking you all seriously paywalled the most generic colors in Halo… Not special colors just the starting colors…

And honestly we won’t ever get a answer to that be ause we’ll know it.

They didn’t really have that much content planned so they did a desperate move and used default colors to fill out content and hoped no one would notice

Exceptional thread Mad Props to you. I have bought every Xbox machine and Halo game. Since day one . I have 4 additional. XBOXs i bought as gifts . So i am not bothered by spending money when I get a good value . But Halo Infinity. By any measure is the absolute worst. I might as well go buy the latest COD game or trade these old xboxs for an old coin operated slot machine. Eventually i would win my own money back. LMAO

I can see buying a battle pass for $10 but for the fact that you even get enough credits to buy the next one like fortnite, apex and warzone do is annoying. The battle pass progression system is also chalked. If you run out of challenges, you can either play 10-20 games for JUST ONE TIER, or you can buy eah tier for 200 credits which is a scam. Halo is supposed to be different fromnother franchises like in the Bungie days. That was why it was much better

We will be able to earn our credits back in the premium pass, starting with S2.
Or, if you want (don’t know why you would) you can spend them in the store, but that wouldn’t be as efficient.

Either way we are nearing the end of the Halo franchise

True story. Why a cookbook? What’s up with that? And the $200 boots? It totally takes away from the game. They’re luck the Halo series is good. Had it sucked? Oh man not good.

Aye this is one of the top posts of all time
