I have to reiterate that none of the cosmetic stuff is required to play the game or any game modes. Like…just don’t buy it
Guys we lived through 2 years of Covid ffs, this is such a minor Thing to be upset about at this point.
But maybe that’s just me and I’m the one who’s wrong.
I only hate the game because they insist on making it a Halo/COD hybrid that neither side likes. I’ll take dissent where I can get it though.

And arguably the best halo ever made from story to customization. Everything they did with that game was miles better than infinite. I miss what we had with reach.

Even then, until the quality is equvilent to Reach I refuse to be complacent. I was then to really fix customization. Let us unlock old stuff for free. Charge us for NEW stuff.

It’s a sad day for halo indeed.
I remember the good Auld days. You earned to play the game and your unlocks would be your badge of honour. Now its just a corrupt parasite feasting on our love for Halo.
They studied the market for F2P and put a crazy thought into action. Charge them triple. Say it was an error or don’t say anything at all. See if they fall for it. Ya never know it might just work. It’s a numbers game after all, why not chance it. All we need is for one person to get the money ball rolling…and that’s all it took.
The killball is rolling and can we stop it from turning in time or are we too late. One thing is for sure.

Wait. So they weren’t using it as a cash grab before when they released the H3 Zune to get Zune publicity?
Or when Halo wars came out?
Or when they released Spartan Assault for Surface only to try and sell more Surfaces?
Or when they created HCS?
343 was created to continue to use Halo as a cash grab. Halo was always a cash grab.

I would have paid $ 70 for the complete game and would have enjoyed getting each armor and each helmet to the end, like I did with the previous halo, playing over and over again with a goal. Now what? for what? Just pay an indecent amount of money and I have it all … and I don’t plan on doing it.
In previous Halo games , wearing an armor or a certain helmet indicated how much you had worked to achieve it, in how many thousands of battles and challenges you had fought. Now it only means … 20 bucks.

Been playing halo for 15 years and some of the best times I’ve had with the game have been chasing armor unlocks in H3 and Reach. I love the gameplay of the series and it never gets old (and I can see that being the case with Infinite as well), but having a reason to keep playing game after game after game is important.
The current armor unlock / customization system in Infinite is absolutely borked. I feel no pleasure in the armor I unlock or how I unlocked it. There is no satisfaction in grinding challenge after challenge for underwhelming rewards. I used to have a closet of armor to chase, but now with Infinite I feel so pigeon holed into how they want me to customize my spartan, that none of it feels good.
A final example I’ll offer is how I was ready and willing to buy the Reach Pilot pack last night - I was opening my wallet to give 343 $10 for a set of in-game shoulder pads. I already hate that. But when I logged on I saw that the timer was reset and I was SOL until they decided to show up in the armor shop again god knows when in the future.
This does not feel good. I have almost no options for Reach armor core shoulders in the battle pass. My life force is drained by the overwhelming burden of F2P practices in 2021. Plz for the love of Cortana 343 fix the armor unlock / customization system.

I agree, Infinite’s monetization is egregious and absolutely disgusting. Give folks refunds on stuff they bought, and drastically lower the prices ASAP.

I don’t think this is 343 doing as much as Microsoft.
I’ll grant MS may be the ones coming up with prices, but 343 designed their system to be restrictive and tailored made for monetization. Again, they’ve defended Halo going F2P and say it’s necessary. They aren’t off the hook.
