Since the release of Halo 4 we’ve seen how 343industries envisioned the Halo universe. Overall, it’s relatively beautiful. But of course there are some issues out there in which we all have our personal opinions about. However, this is not what I’m gonna talk about. I’m going to talk about the awesomeness of just a small handful of 343i’s designs. First on the list is the UNSC in general, but more specifically the UNSC Marine Corps. Overall the Marines were pretty awesome. There are plenty of designs (A little to many.) to choose from. But “this one” stood out more than the rest. I mainly just loved the helmet & the Kevlar. In my opinion, this should of been the only Marine design in game. Personally, I would’ve added some armor plating over the Kevlar on the chest as well as guards the lower arms & some Halo 3 reminiscent leg armor. But as I said, that helmet was awesome! But not as much as “this helmet.” This is most certainly a redesigned Halo 3 CH252 Marine combat helmet. Makes me wonder how 343i would’ve designed the Halo 3 Marines. Just as long as they look basically the same, but with the Kevlar as well. After all, the BDU of the UNSC Army & Marine Corps was supposed to be significantly inferior to that of the Spartans or even the ODST’s.
When it comes to the Covenant designs… I’m what you’d call “iffy.” It’s like I like them, but they’re not my favorites. My personally favorite Covenant designs come from Halo: Reach (Vehicles, ships, weapons, tech, etc.) & Halo 2: Anniversary (Infantry & weapons.). However! I really do love 343industries design of the Forerunners & their technology. It makes everything the Covenant has ever had seem primitive in comparison. The architecture is sometimes angular & at the same time somehow smooth & rounded. Sometimes floating & nothing is connected. I really loved there designs of the Promethean’s (Crawlers, Watchers, Soldiers, & Knights.) as well as the Ur-Didact & the Librarian. But for some reason I just love designs of the Sentinel Constructor & my favorite, the Aggressor Sentinel. They were once clunky, now they’re smooth & elegant.
So tell me what are you’re thoughts about 343industries designs of the Halo universe. I’m curious.
Bungies armour looked more like military armour. 343i had some military looking armour but some of them where ridiculous. I mean FOTUS looks like a unicorn, how the hell do you see out of the network and pioneer helmets and locus looks ugly af. Some of them look great but others not so much

No disagreement & I don’t know. However, I think they were just being artsy & goofy. Especially with the FOTUS armor. Bungie & 343i both did this. Remember HAYABUSA? It was cool, but come on! LOL! I still like a lot of both of their designs though. But I’ve never been much of a Spartan fan, except for the Spartan-III program. Otherwise I preferred the Marines, ODST’s, & Sangheili.
I agree with you 100% on the Forerunner designs.
As Linda would say, “There’s a formalness and precision to it all, it seems artificial, but still organic.”
They did a good job bringing it back. All of the life and technology the Forerunners had preserved was so beautiful and mysterious, especially on Genesis, as Blue Team walked among the local wildlife. The design made it all seem so elegant, so to speak, as if nothing could compare to it. Human technology was too familiar and mechanical, while the Covenant’s was too, well, alien.
Promethean designs too was a big step up in the universe, it was menacing, but still shared the same level of mystery.
Even though the Prometheans and Forerunners are relatively the same thing, only difference being that Prometheans are red and a completely different being before they were composed, I still see the Prometheans as just the darker and more evil way of getting rid of the Flood.

Yes! Halo 4 & Halo 5: Guardians had amazing Forerunner structures & designs. But don’t just thank 343industries for that. They got some inspiration from Greg Bear & his “Forerunner Saga” novels. When detail in a novel, especially Sci-Fi, Greg Bear is your man. I was amazing! Not only did give descriptions of exactly what the Forerunners looked like, but the technology is amazing! Some of it make what we see in-game look mediocre in comparison. However! I would like to say that I love the stone structure on the Delta Halo in Halo 2. Obviously those were structures of a civilization that lived there until the reseeding had begun.
As for the Promethean’s, I don’t find them as scary. Intimidating, yes. Scary, no. They are not replacing The Flood. If anything, there presence in-game is proof that we will have yet another Halo game in the franchise where The Flood will be a major threat. I believe that in this game, we shall see Forerunner Promethean’s fighting all sorts of Flood forms. Just the thought of this is epic enough to have me patiently sit & wait with my money in hand.

It’s a different Race of Jackal. There’s 3 races so far. I forget their canonical names, but the most common are the ones from Halo 1-3. Then there’s the skirmishers from Reach. The least common are the ones from H4 and 5 and have allied themselves with the Covenant Remanant.

Not a big fan of the 343i Jackal myself, however I do accept as cannon because it’s a different race of Kig-Yar. What I do like about what 343i did with the Jackals is how feral they appear in-game for Halo 4’s mission, “The Composer.” I just wish they didn’t speak English in Halo 5: Guardians. It makes me laugh to much!
