343i - Halo 5 Beta Voting Polls In-Game Menu

.

Hey 343, I just had an idea and needed to type it up here without flooding your twitter feed. But I thought it would be cool to have some sort of voting in the Halo 5 beta when it launches. The beta would be much like any other, and most betas don’t necessarily have their main priority as having feedback come back to them, but more about if their servers can handle the population. But, and there’s always a but, for you guys its especially important to not only have the capacity to handle the amount of players logging in and playing but its VERY important to get crucial information about the game itself. So why not have an in-game menu that brings players to a menu where they can cast their vote on what they like and what they didn’t like about the beta?

The voting options can be anything and everything, not only the changes from H4, but any gameplay element that could be questioned and voted on. And this doesn’t even need to be applied to the Gameplay (although, arguably is the most important part) but also have any poll questions about the Engine as well, like the graphics, physics, lighting and animations also sound / audio.

All poll question could and should be narrowed down to either yes / no or agree / disagree to get the best and most clear results. The reasoning behind the poll questions within the beta is to not only get the most direct feedback from the audience but to get as many people opinions as well on the game. So I just wanted to let you know about this idea that has been floating around in my head, and wanted to share it with you. Also the beta doesn’t start til the very end of December, so I’d be -Yoink!- if it wasn’t implemented in some way or another by that time. Going back, in order to really capture fans attention on the voting, you need to really make the menu really nice looking and polished, it has to look in line with the rest of the in-game UI (I’m sure you know this, just wanted to make sure) the other thing that’s a lot more optional is to have small videos & pics describing what is being asked for in the question, but its totally up to you guys.

Other than that, I don’t have anymore to say, but I’ll keep in touch if I have any other ideas, thanks!

This is a pretty interesting idea. Include an option to turn the surveys off. A lot of people who will play the Halo 5: Guardians beta won’t access the forums, so it will broaden their subject data.

This could also be implemented instead of map voting in between matches. Have a Ballet for voting on maps and games you like to play, check each box and your map vote is always ready. These could be saved. If you stay in a lobby for that game type every map you chose should be cycled thought before they repeat. The more checked maps would be used first. 8 out of 8 chose Lockout. There’s your first map. 7 out of 8 chose Valhalla there’s your 2nd map. And so on then when all choices have been cycled it would start over.

I really like this idea and think the benefits are self-explanatory. With the way that the online population has decreased so drastically since Halo 3, feedback should be collected from as many different mediums as possible. A voluntary survey for the H5 beta would surely provide invaluable feedback regarding the sentiments of the broader Halo community.

I like this idea a lot, and hope that is implemented.
