343i focusing on eSports was the best decision in years

It does feel like 343i focused on gearing Halo Infinite towards eSports and it was the BEST decision they made in years. I have been playing Halo competitively since Halo CE and I have been playing first person shooters competitively for over 20 years and Halo is the best FPS for eSports.

It takes a tremendous amount of skill to play Halo, and few FPS come close to the skill gap that Halo has. The excitement and action are unparalleled, but the most important aspect of Halo is its game mechanics and skill level. It is unrivaled in every way, from aim to strafing to teamwork.

I’m a first-generation gamer, having played everything from the original Nintendo to PC/PS/XBX, and I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the evolution of games and eSports from the beginning. From MLG to eSports, competitive video gaming is only just getting started in the United States. It is now the second most watched sport in the United States, and eSports is growing in popularity in other countries as a result of CSGO and League of Legends. Someday, eSports in the US will have more average viewers than the NFL, which is quite a feat.

I’m not sure you understand what it means that the NFL could be surpassed in viewers in the US someday by eSports. Furthermore, Halo is similar to football or basketball in that it requires a tremendous amount of skill and teamwork to be good at it, and Halo is one of the games that has the potential to revolutionize eSports like it has in the past.

Halo needs eSports, and eSports needs Halo back up top. Furthermore, Halo can easily please non-competition players with a variety of playlists ranging from BTB to Swat, you name it. Halo can easily please all types of gamers while focusing on what matters, which is competitive gaming.

I played football and coached football at the college level and eSports has tremendous potential to be one of the most popular sports in the world and Halo can help it get there with the help of other games from different genres (League of Legends, CSGO, and future games to come). After witnessing the evolution of video games and eSports from the beginning, I truly understand the potential Halo has in eSports due to the level of skill required to compete and excite meant in gameplay.

If non-competitive gamers are unhappy with the direction eSports is taking, then ranked Halo is not for you. Just like in other sports, only a select few people in the world have the skills to compete with the best, and Halo’s skill gap is one of the best things about this game. Even though a select few people can compete with the best doesn’t mean it is the wrong direction to head in. Just look at how popular football is, there are not many players in the NFL (32 teams + 53 man rosters + practice squad) and it generates massive amount of viewers and money. Halo is only for the best of the best and it’s just getting started AGAIN. Halo has the potential to be bigger than it was at it’s peak if 343i can keep the focus on eSports and keep developing it in the right direction. Halo infinite’s multiplayer is one of the best I’ve seen in YEARS!

Maybe. But kicking off the HCS less than a month after the game’s launch is a big yikes, especially considering the buggy--Yoink!- state it’s in. Somebody should be getting reprimanded for the number of mid-match DCs happening on their HCS livestreams right about now.

Oh, that was a huge blunder, but the potential is there. I think they were a little too eager to get HCS up and running, but that’s fine. Nothing ever goes as planned, and there are always problems along the way to the top.

With the lack of new games over the last two years, it was also the ideal time to get into eSports. In addition, I’m impressed with how polished the gameplay and mechanics are already, especially when compared to a lot of games these days. Battlefield, for example, is a hot mess that is unquestionably still in beta. It makes me sick how all these game developers release games that aren’t even close to being ready for release and then expect us to deal with all the crap until it’s finally polished a year or two later. It doesn’t help the rich corporate idiots are trying to run game development nowadays on tight schedules. I feel bad for game developers because they need the money from these idiots to make games.

You’re joking, right? This game is beyond polished in multiplayer and the current HCS event is held online, which is hardly going well. Also, Forge and Co-op aren’t even out yet, even though they’re the biggest staples of the franchise. How can you consider that “ready for release”?

Terrible spawns, horrible to non existent aim assist, terrible hit registration that you get hit behind walls , horrible physics, ice skatey like strafing, bad melee system , legacy guns cut out. Best multiplayer in Halo in years? I think not. Compared to the other Halos, this game is definitely not polished to optimization levels where I feel like this is a next gen game/2021 PC game.

Halo Esports is what KILLED HALO ( From Halo 5 - Halo Infinite )

Yeah, Halo “ Esports “ has been apart of Halo since Halo 2, but 343 Industries made Halo more competitive than it once was and focused Heavily on the ESPORTS SCENE.

From Halo 5 - Halo Infinite, look what Micro-transactions did with Halo… Looking back at Halo 5, Yeah the micro-transactions were bad, but not as bad as the constant HCS Championship packs with Armor skins, Weapon Skins and Emblems…

Now look at Halo Infinite, Its micro-transactions heavily focus on the HCS Packs / Teams again and thats where the promotion for Halo Infinite is mainly at.

When Doc Disrespect or anyone says Halo Infinite will fail, They mean in the competitive sense, cause that is what KILLED Halo 5.

Doc Disrespect said Halo needs a BR to stay alive and relevant, If Halo is going to focus on competitiveness, THEN YES, HALO WILL NEED A BR. 4 v 4 won’t do it anymore and a BR will allow 343 to implement more maps based on competitiveness and more content in the micro-transaction store, the who store is based on Fortnite, CODS, PubG and many other Esport / competitive based gameplay ; and there micro-transaction system.

Casual Halo ( CE - 3 / Reach ) was sweaty competitive, but Halo 5 - Infinite is trying to hard at being competitive, especially with all the, “ BuY oUr TeAm SkInS tO lOok LiKe uS aNd pReTeNd To bE a pRo pLaYeR “

343 Industries focusing on Halo Esports is why Halo 5 - Halo Infinite is littered with Micro-Transactions.
Esports is what is KILLING HALO.
