I believe the title is pretty self explanatory. I was an avid destiny player and because of the “grind”, I walked away and haven’t logged into the game for nearly 7 months. The way Bungie rigged Destiny to make players grind for hours & weeks for loot, gear and rankings actually made me hate the game, hate it. And by hate I mean Bungie has lost me as a customer.
The same is happening with Halo 5.
The month long “seasons” idea is not working and the placement matches fail to rank a player into a proper CSR. If a player gets to plat 'x" the season prior, there is no reason why they should land in Gold “x” the following season and have to “grind” again to get back to, or higher, right at the end of the month only to have it reset again in a few days… and have to repeat the entire process during the new “season”.
H5G’s multiplayer is a lot of fun. Please fix this, it would be a shame to lose population & fans because of a broken ranking system.
They should’ve fixed it 4-5 months ago. My friends and I all complained 5 months ago that matching was incredibly unfair, with full Onyx/Champ squads facing Diamond randos. No one wants to log-on and get smashed all day, and for what reward? A rank that will be wiped a month later, and another worthless emblem. Lol.
It’s why nobody plays ranked anymore. It’s miserable.
okay first if all, you’ve only ever made plat 1 with a 1.1 kd. This season your kd was lower, and probably did not as well in your placements. For the record going from plat 1 to gold 5, isn’t even that much of a set back. Now if you were say plat 3 and dropped to gold 1 I could understand this post. You did worse so you got placed lower. The ranking system is fine, do well in the next 5-6 matches and you should be plat 1

Dude. Stop defending what is a clear cut problem with Halo 5’s MP. and for the record, I didn’t go from plat one to gold 5. I went from plat1 to Gold 2. And having to repeat the effort again this month is not what I call a good time.

^. Look at some of the posts in the matchmaking forum. There seems to be more questions and complaints versus praise for H5’s ranking system and season length.

Agree with the reply. The placement system sucks. When you have reached onyx 4 times in ffa comfortably but never been placed there-instead plat 1, diamond 3, plat 4, diamond 1, then there is something wrong. When i am clearly onyx (onyx 1809 last season) i shouldnt place a division or 2 too low. It takes the blam. People say “oh well just grind up to prove it” but i should just get placed properly. And i have proved it 4 times already. How many more times do i have to prove it? Having to waste 30 games to get to the rank others get straight away, and which is should get straight away, is annoying. There is only so long in a season and i dont want to waste half of it because the placement system is a load of garbage.

Well unfortunately there is a rather large group of dingleberries that like the current system. Their lack of common sense will be the downfall.

You misunderstood the entire post. Month 1, I play all month long and end up at Diamond 4. Server resets, I play my 10 games and get put into Platinum 5 (I lost 7/10 games). The next month I play my 10 games and win 9/10 games with a 1.6 k/d, and where does it put me you ask? Gold 3…It’s not about dropping levels when you lose, it’s about randomly getting thrown into a playlist. It’s absolute non-sense, and if you have been through these forums about the ranking system you would see it happens every month. A lot of people are affected by this.

You’re actually, and you call it drama? Oh come now, don’t tell you have not gotten upset about a video game. Now take that anger, and apply it to every single month, and several times a day. Then you can call it over dramatic. This is the only game I play, I don’t like most games, so this is all I have time for anyways.
