343i Feedback - The Future of Warzone

This thread is for feedback for 343i to make positive changes to the Warzone game type. So let’s keep the moaning to a minimum - if you don’t like something, say how it could be better. Keep it constructive and maybe something will make it into the game.

Most people are loving Warzone. I personally know people who hate it, but for the most part people love it and it offers a great change in pace if you’ve burnt out in Team Arena and wasn’t to switch off a bit. Personally, Warzone is not quite what I expected. That’s not a bad thing, it is what it is and I enjoy it, but there a few changes that I would like to see made to open up the experience. I’ve listed the updates I’d make below, but what would you ask of 343i? Leave your comments as I’m sure somebody out there has that one special idea that would be game changing.

1. A ‘Warzone: Battleground’ playlist: Forget the lame name, it’s just an extra****option to Warzone and Warzone: Assault. This comes from my thought’s that there’d be MUCH more AI on the battlefield. I was thinking Titanfall but we got essentially a pop-up bonus. You’d have to play with the scoring balance of course, so why not take out the core instant win, and reduce boss & legendary boss points.Take out a 150 point legendary boss, and that’s 150 single point elites that could drop in over the course of a match. Is the Xbox One capable running all the extra AI and explosions? With the cloud I’m sure it would be but I’m no tech head.

2. The Little Things: This is more of a list of personal preferences, but ones that I thing most people would agree with. There’s always a counter argument, so please leave you thoughts below. Base icons to resemble East, West, Spire and Garage to allow better map awareness and traversal. Icons to appear across the map, not just when in range - that applies to bosses also. A tiered scoring system to legendary bosses so teams that do all the damage get points for their effort - while definitely still keeping the majority for the final shot (I’ve won AND lost matches by a sneaky final shot so I see both sides).

3. Map Variety: I don’t like March on Stormwhatever. Just saying. I get smashed every time. I think the issue (aside than I need to git gud ;p) is that whoever holds center destroys as it’s so hard to take it back if you’ve got a pants team that don’t co-ordinate their efforts. Don’t make it too easy just for the pants players, but a few tweaks are needed on that map for base control flow. Expanding on that, I think that at least 6 maps are required to give enough variety for Warzone. There’s too much of a forerunner theme in recent Halo games (in my humble opinion) so why not have some more ‘blue sky’ deserts inspired by Halo 3’s aesthetic, or something with lots of verticality like the Locke Sanghellios mission in the creek.

I think my problem is its kinda repetitive over and over and over again, Especially when you play 4 games in a row on the stupid snow map that needs to fall off the cliff its on. In a sense I wish it had more PvE randomly instead of certain areas. And a possibility to add maybe, just maybe. Objective besides the bases. Capture 2 bases and then capture lets say 7 flags that sit infront of enemy base. It’d be something different to add

I get the repetitive issue, i think that will be fixed with more maps. Also AI spawn locations (if they didn’t add more AI overall) should be random or at leave variable on who currently holds where.

I REALLY like the idea of having flags. Both teams could have 3 flags and they need to get that flag to a neutral or enemy controlled base to capture it as a spawn location. When you get a base taken from you, your flag resets at home base. Or like you say, each team has a collections of flags at home base that are worth, say…25 points when the enemy captures one and returns it home.
