I just don’t have any other reason to believe that 343 likes halo’s fanbase or even halo at all.
Classic halo is dead and while you can say that halo needs to move forward, I can remind you that Halo stood as the most played multiplayer game for at least 2-3 years on xbox 360 competing with call of duty, because people liked halo, not call of duty; Today 343i does the best to make halo almost anything but halo.
Don’t fix what wasn’t broken
And if you don’t believe me just look at games like CSGO, that understands that it’s core mechanics are what makes it enjoyable and competitive.
But well, good thing is that Halo 3 MCC has people playing competitive again, so I’ll be there for as long as I can.

3 years later MCC will still have players and Infinite will have none.
I like modern & classic Halo.
Hopefully Halo 5 and HI are added to social match composer soon. That will keep Halo alive for all fans for many, many years. I personally queue for all Halo games when I search.
Halo will be divided / spread out of they don’t merge the MM to one interface. Right now population is thin with Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo MCC Xbox, Halo MCC PC, Halo 5, Halo Reach, etc. Needs to be cored up. And MCC match composer is a fantastic start!
I don’t know man, the forums are definitely mostly negative, but if you look at the Youtube like ratio it’s pretty positive.
I remember seeing videos on YouTube when it first came out talking about how Halo 2 ruined the franchise lol. I don’t think the amount of hate the new games get is much worse than the old ones honestly.
Yeah dude, they work on the Halo franchise because they hate it and it’s fans despite being filled with fans themselves. What makes more sense? They just hate everything or they simply have their own vision and outlook? You can disagree with it, but I’ve rarely got the impression they HATE Halo. Maybe they’ve made bad choices here and there, but this community has a short memory given people said the same -Yoink- about Bungie.

They don’t. Frankie specifically said they hired people who “hated Halo”.
And please, to all the keyboard warriors, don’t tell me I’m taking the quote out of context.
I know they context.
He said “I feel like this game could be awesome because of ‘Y input’ that I’m going to bring into it”
That still means they they think the game isn’t awesome unless it has Y.
Which got us 13 million new Y’s added to the game, none of which harmonize with one another…
