343i,custom maps, less dlc,Remember reach?

Ok I’m going to start this, may sound like a rant but here.

Basically there dumping more horrible forge maps, we all know this will mean dlc maps will vanish from the servers like what happened with Reach… Why do people bother with the dlc if we will never see them due to the over-run of forge maps? 343i really need to sort out their marketing or nobody will buy the dlc. I bought the season pass but all those that didn’t will be put off if it’s mostly forge maps…

If all users in the game have DLC, then at least one DLC map will be a voting option, regardless of the Forge maps implemented.

I don’t see the issue?

Go play Reach then find maps alone then tell me it’s not a problem. The same thing will happen to Halo 4. Custom maps as a rule need to stick to custom games only.

What we’ll most likely see is actually see 1 default map, 2 forge maps.

So your issue is the likeliness of matching DLC owners?

I don’t see why you’re linking custom maps to this then, like I said, if you do find a game were everyone has DLC, the DLC maps will be a voting option at least once so people can vote for it if they see fit. If people wanna play a community map over a DLC map then that their preference and the exact reason why community maps are added, to give people more choice.

Why on earth should I care for forge maps popping up every 5 seconds? The community didn’t ask for mostly forge only maps. Also I don’t see why you’d want forge maps to be anything else but custom game modes only… Forge maps are terrible, just don’t deserve to be anywhere near matchmaking.

My interest is to see mostly default maps, dlc maps and I don’t want to see any forge maps but it’s mostly likely that I’ll see forge maps over-running both as usual just like in Reach…

I’m glad they are adding more forge maps and rotating out some of the -Yoink- ones.

As for DLC, Forge maps are entirely irrelevant to DLC in matchmaking. The lack of a DLC playlist coupled with rarely getting paired with people who have DLC are the issues.

> The community didn’t ask for mostly forge only maps

News flash, I and a lot of other people did. The on-disc 4v4 maps are terrible for the most part.

Right, so that’s your opinion and I can tell you now, you’re in the minority, one of the most requested things for Halo 4 was community maps, hence why the Community Forge Test playlist had so many players when it finally came out to test them.

There are not enough default/DLC maps which are actually balanced and in my opinion, most of the Forge maps being implemented are more balanced and aren’t huge.

My ‘opinion’ doesn’t make it a minority just because of your opinion. You’ll find a lot of people like myself, maybe in the halo facebook group and most of my friends completly disagree with you.

Most of the forge maps are just horrid to look at, it’s bad enough most maps are small but forge related content need to stick to it’s own unique playlist instead of being forced on us.

Please let this be a troll thread, because those are all ridiculous things to state.

Not funny. Havine an opinion does not make it a troll thread! It’s one of the reasons people aren’t playing Halo 4 as much.

Forge maps are fine, I’ve done scrims on Simplex so many times that I’m going to dread seeing that map. Other than that I’m glad the forge maps are coming, some of them are really good and remind me of Reach.

I’ll have to wait, see. So far I haven’t been impressed by anything in H4 forge. I built my own stuff but most people I know just avoid forge in general in H4. It was mostly custom games in Reach plus forge is sometimes severly glitchy. I remember in Reach my wraith would randomly spin out of control on one of the forge maps (big team), randomly killing me for no reason.

Plus the forge maps just seem cluttered usually. I’d rather have detailed maps than having to see re-used forge stuff.

Eh, personally, I don’t care for most Forge maps. I hate that they’re going to start flooding War Games with Forge maps like they did to Reach’s matchmaking.

So long as 343 is willing to implement DLC well enough, we won’t have the “Forge Flood” that is Reach. Don’t get me wrong, I like forge maps due to variety and as a forger of competitive-based maps I hope to have my maps in MM one day, but as a DLC owner I would like to play the things I paid for in MM as well.

343 could solve this with a proposal that has been brought up time and time again: make dedicated playlists. Here’s an idea:

Rotational playlists:

Forge-only playlists of FFA, 4v4, and 8v8

DLC-only playlists of FFA, 4v4, and 8v8.

Always have one of each (Forge and DLC) available, and include both Slayer and Objective game types. Probably won’t happen, but here’s hoping something will be done.

I’ve seen ONE DLC map outside of it’s dedicated playlist in matchmaking. There’s your issue.
