343i could take a note from H3 and dumb down the SBMM

So with the most recent secret update to thighten up SBMM even more I think we’ve reached the point at which we have to make 343i understand that this makes Infinite not a fun or enjoyable experience, specially considering its a video game.

H3 made the right call having a SBMM but not forcing it down your throat trying to balance teams in a horrendous manner.

Max Hoberman is a really good developer, he knew what was best for the game. Shame he’s not working directly on halo anymore

At this point i wish they would atleast try it and see how the community responds. Heck just create social slayer beta playlist or something!

Tbh, I don’t know much about SBMM/CBMM. What I do know is that most player that want CBMM what to pub stomp. All I want is to be able to connect and I don’t give a flying hoot if it’s SBMM or CBMM.

I always find it hilarious how people always accuse people who want a good connection wanting to pub stomp because it just shows how full of bs they are

Oh you just want to pub stomp its not because the crappy strict sbmm is putting you into high ping matches noooo

If they did you would see the player count dying slower than it already is

Keep in mind the dysync and lack of content will still cause players to leave but having a actual loose sbmm along the lines of halo 3’s social in infinites casual mode will have players staying around longer as they aren’t having to sweat for a lot of their matches

Like the player count starting dying off quickly after the tightened up sbmm on btb

He sure did.

He put SBMM in both ranked and social playlists.

The idea was to push all the hyper-competitive -yoink-holes (his words) into ranked and leave social as a more relaxed game.

Unfortunately his vision has come to an end. Those same “-yoink- holes” (again, his adjectives) want to play in social.

Yeah, that’s way streamers constantly show pub stopping in their vids because it’s “BS”. It’s funny how they complain when there are players that are actually as good as some of them or better, you know, because giving them a challenge is a bad thing.

I am literally matching pros and top 100 CSR players in social playlists consistently, wtf is this.

In the stupid Entrenched playlist I ran into the same pro who is apparently in the top 10 in the world more than once.

Ranked is less aggressive with the MMR than social is right now.

It shouldn’t have come to an end. The yoink holes want to play in social, fine, i’m one of them becasue ranked stresses me a lot, casual players and people who want to avoid sweats can go in ranked immediately and play balanced matches, with strict sbmm, protected by the few yoink holes remaining in ranked.

Why do you think the matchmaking and 343 know better than casual players? Are they (casual players) so ****** that they aren’t able to switch playlists when they see too many yoink holes playing in social? Why do they need a babysitter matchmaking (every playlist has the same sbmm so you don’t have to choose the right playlists to avoid sweats) ? I don’t think so… and if i was a causal player i’d hate to be treated like a ****** who needs to be guided

it should have been written near the playlists, " this playlist matches you on skill" below ranked and “this playlist has relaxed skill levels” below social, so people could know when it was time to switch. But even then, it was obvious, you just had to play a little bit and you’d know about the differences

Also, you conveniently didn’t mention one of the best Hoberman quotes, which is something like " the best matches aren’t the closest ones", don’t remember the exact words. Of course i expect you to say that he’s wrong about htis because the data says differently. But as you can see, even experts on sbmm disagree with each other

Also it’s clear this doesn’t work. For normal players, ranked tends to be stressful. It’s the complete opposite of what they want.
For people that are like " if-i-get-stomped-i-quit" it is the best playlist

Off the cuff I’d say it’s a match making server struggling with very low population numbers.

And if you aren’t close to the top 100 CSR players - maybe it’s just SBMM loosening up a bit. Showing that’s it’s that strict.

I’m sure it was cool playing them. At least the first time. Where they relaxed and mucking about. Or going hell for leather and streaming the carnage?

Why do you think you know better than casual players?

Which is what it seems do. Or at least try to do.

I don’t think anybody is against a range of matches. And match making isn’t an exact science.

You are trying to twist my words due to the lack of a good answer to my opinion.
For a guy that makes logical thoughts usually, even though i don’t agree with you, you are failing this time

I never said that i know better than the casual players who are playing infinite right now. All i said is that there should be 2 separate playlists, ranked and social, with very different sbmm rules. Everyone then should logically play what they think is the best

If the best was ranked with strict sbmm, everyone would play it.

I can assure you that in the halo 3 era, a lot of people played social with relaxed sbmm, me included, i was a casual player then, my kd was barely above 1, i didn’t know weapon spawns, spartan spawns, i didn’t know how to aim like a pro, my movement was bad etc.

i never encountered problems in social, i had lots of fun, never wanted strict sbmm, i didn’t even know what it was, never remember being stomped too hard or too often, never seen excessive lag because the population was actually big… the problems all started when 343 tried to change everything Max Hoberman did

Let’s make an example, and i want you to replay to this one instead of cherry picking my ideas please
Let’s say we have 1 million players, 60 % likes to play ranked with strict sbmm and the other 40% social with relaxed sbmm
Menke could say then " it seems most people like strict sbmm" and it would be true yes, 60% is higher than 40%

But this is where his logics falls apart. He changes both ranked and social to strict sbmm because the majority likes it.

The problem is, sooner or later, you are gonna lose that 40%.
of course i’m making numbers up but you get the idea
We need both options!

Every match I play everyone is sweating their balls off like it’s for money

Hahahaha so you’re saying average players have to suffer because of a small minority of the playerbase?

Me and my cousin hate how sweaty casual was when we were still playing and inb4 you say its because you’re a great player i was a gold player in the generous givings of season 1 ranked as i treated it like it was casual

Casual player here the sbmm sucks in casual

I’m one of those people the only time i touched rank was when i was with friends and to try and get achievements to unlock armor and i’ll tell you rn my kd was also in the negative as i don’t care about kd in video games i care about having fun

Dude I can’t even have just 1 match to just chill out I hate having to sweat all the time because of it

It’s actually stupid to assume things. If you read what was actually said instead of creating your own narrative. Your reply might have not been laughable.

It was self explanatory when I said I don’t care if it’s SBMM or CBMM. Try to keep up…

I’m not the one saying streamers creating highlight videos shows how its bs

Anyone can create highlight videos from a few decent matches they had

Like i could right now if i knew how to edit videos and know how to create montages

Also i would like to point out anyone can get into a match where its easy to pubstomp all you have to do is tank your mmr until your in match filled with newbies

The issue is there’s no between you either get matches that are too easy(if you tank your mmr) or a sweatfest

The only time you got the perfect matches that didn’t have high ping were during your first dozen matches before the sbmm decided it was time for you to sweat
