I think it would be good and exciting if 343 was to port all Fire Fight Maps to muiltiplayer and vice versa, they could add the forge world pallet to the ported now MP maps and the new FF maps could have new game types and mods added like in I-04.
Firefight To Muiltiplayer
Beachhead 12-16 Players (BTB)
Corvette 2-6/8 Players (1v1, Doubles, FFA)
Courtyard 2-8 Players (2v2, 4v4, FFA, CTF)
Glacier 4-12 Players (BTB, Invastion - Maybe Mod it to be larger, remove some 10s kill zones)
Holdout 4-12 Players (4v4)
Outpost 4-8 Players (4v4)
Overlook 4-12 Players (1 Flag/Assault - Maybe Mod it to be larger for attack/defend games)
Waterfront 4-12 Players (FFA, KOTH)
Unearthed 8-16 Players (BTB)
Installation 04 - 4-8 Players (4v4, CTF, 3-Plot)
I think the multiplayer maps in FF would be cool (FF on Powerhouse or Zealot)
but multiplayer wouldnt really work on the FF maps
ex:
how would maps with one base like glacier, corvette, or outpost work for multiplayer? theres not as many corridors and cover as a multiplayer map and the maps only have one central base.
that being said, beachhead has 3 “base like” areas and could work for multiplayer or better yet, INVASION with the bases being the checkpoints and the covies start on the beach.
Cool ideas it reminds me over the old generator defense Elites vs Spartans on Overlook in the Beta. That was pretty enjoyable until Bungie butchered it in the final version by making it FF Versus >.>.
Sadly, it’s not feasible either. You see, when you are making a FF or MP, you have to build them with that in mind. It’s not as easy as converting a FF map into a MP or a MP in a FF map. In fact, it wouldn’t be worth the effort, time, or money since default Reach maps are horrible and FF maps for MM wouldn’t be that balanced. Sure most of you want to have “fun” running around with maxed out modifiers w/rocket launchers and evade but tha wouldn’t translate well outside of custom games.
> Why wouldn’t 343 take this opportunity? It’s a chance to practically give out a HUGE free map pack, with little to no cost to them.
lol trust me, doing something like this would take time to do. Not only that, your going to need more than just one person making all these tweaks if you would want to see these retweaked maps in a timely manner.
Sorry to shoot your Arwing down like this (you didn’t barrel roll) but such things would require a great effort to do and with Halo 4 being tweaked and polished for greatness, it’s much more feasible to focus on that title rather make some gigantic map pack with uninspired maps. Plus tweaking all the AI code would be such a pain in the -Yoink- to work on the mediocre default maps.
