343i, bring back the skill

The thing that made Halo games great was the fact that it was competitive. For a long time, Halo 4’s changes were unexplained. However, the “Halo Veterans” knew from the beginning that this game was designed for newer players. For example, infinity slayer is a featured playlist that provides ordinance drops to users who obtain a specific amount of points. Ordinance drops are power weapons that mysteriously appear from the sky right to the player’s feet. Also, players have the ability to spawn with a weapon that was deliberately designed to be a one shot kill. 343i wanted people who casually played the halo series to be good at the game. The DGC spectacle really showed 343i’s vision for how they wanted Halo to be. It felt as if 343i punched all of the competitive players’ faces.

I understand that 343i is trying to make Halo 4 competitive. They are releasing playlists and some of them are designed for competitive play. Recently, 343i released the new Competitive Skill Rank. The biggest concerns we are facing right now are the weapon changes.

343i are considering buffing the precision rifles. Currently, the game is fast paced. With the weapon buffs, the gameplay will be much faster. It will turn into a hectic run and gun shooter because of the casual aspect of the game. There is not much skill involved because headshots are easy in Halo 4.

If 343i decides to buff the weapons, they should make it challenging for players to get the kills. By reducing bullet magnetism and aim assist, it will make it difficult to get headshots. For example, players will feel rewarded for landing that 4th shot perfectly with the Battle Rifle.

A skilled player who knows how to aim should be able to out BR a less skilled player who shot first. To me, that’s Halo.

Bring back the skill.

They don’t have any skill…

Already is a run and gun game. Do you see any kind of teamwork in your games if you are playing alone? I can´t see any i can see my team run towards the enemy just for the kill

I agree. Please understand the context of what I’m saying. Read the sentence before the highlighted material. I wrote the following statement “Currently, the game is fast paced. With the weapon buffs, the gameplay will be much faster.”

I read and agree with you. Just highlighed that because this game is a run and gun game since his release

What makes Halo great is subjective.

For you, it’s competitive MP is the main ingredient.

Please do not assume that 8 million people agree with you.

I am tired of these grand statements that try to convey opinion as fact.

It is enough that you want Halo 4 to be “competitive”

Your opinion is your own, and that is cool.

OP,

I agree with you. A skilled player should be able to out-kill a player of less skill, but they can’t. I myself would pwn on Halo 3 with the BR, but on Halo 4 everything’s all messed up. I can’t use my true skill!

Aren’t those changes still on testing and are subject to change as time goes?
