Its influenced by all battle pass systems, im sure we will find a healthy equilibrium once the dust settles, everyone wants change now but the game isn’t even technically released by 1.0 standards and yes the store has been up since the 15th but no one made anybody buy anything from it be a smart consumer, enjoy what you want to enjoy, if you don’t enjoy something air your grievances constructively and don’t interact with it beyond that.

All I hear about is armor pieces and colors, but little do we hear about the poor quality of armor effects.

Honestly, that whole debate is a chicken and egg thing. They’re both high.
I mean I’m not at the point of even talking about animation quality right now. That could be as simple as a technical limitation due to how many players can be in a match wearing it, rather than a choice actively made to gut the game

Oh let’s not forget colors, they’re charging us to buy and unlock color pallettes that aren’t even unique in any way really, do you know how easy it is to change colors of something?
It has more to do with map flow than aim.
Strafing and jumping tend to still be very powerful in the trilogy, so while increased movement has helped raise the skill ceiling a little bit more on this situation, people did not enjoy getting caught out in the open and feeling defenseless because they have to sacrifice movement to defend themselves.
The game was made to be slow to give you time to outthink your opponent(s) no matter the situation, that was the appeal.
I’ve never hated sprint in halo, I’ve hated the newer map designs where I’m doing slide glitches and -Yoink!- and it’s still not good enough to not get caught out in the open when my team leaves me and I try to rotate to them.
Personally I feel like the only way it degrades combat is by making base speed slower? Or at least it feels that way, I feel like I’m moving way slower in halo 5 walking and trying to strafe without boosting than in halo 2 or 3. Infinite has completely fixed this, if it’s a problem and I’m not just a schizo.
