343, your visual design choices are odd/bad

Constructive criticisms. Do improve.

1: Colours.
It’s always been that the unsc prefer a dull pallet of maybe grey, green and brown. Now they’ve got blue glowey engines, their vi spartans are blue too. I’m not that opposed to the unsc dirrection, but the covenant colour scheme is a problem. The covenant used to be a whole range of purples. Now quite a bit of their stuff is dark blue, grey… and happens to glow bright green (a colour that never occurred on them in previous games outside of weapons fire) It would fit the covenant far more to give them pink, purple or blue glowing parts.

2: covenant species.
I can understand the armour changes. I also assume that the prologue sequence that uses these storm elites to resemble the standard covenant military to be an accident. but there are three huge problems
-The elites have pale skin. Like all of them became albino. They should be a darker colour. Or have variety.

  • The grunts have the same skin type as the elites. Which feels even more wrong since they’ve been a blue in every game and had red bone/shell spike like things on their arms in the past two games.
  • The jackals are much less avian and have much more fishlike heads. Again a huge error

3: the design changes to the Unsc make them look a lot less like the unsc and a lot more like sci fi armies from other games. new The glowey blue engines of the pseudo pelican pretty much enforce the stereotypical earth defense force look (yellow would fit the unsc better and would match the spartan shields. Green would indicate that a few scientists have grabbed a confident understanding of the technology)furthermore the warthog.

Minor notes

  • blue prometheans should use blue weapons
  • Spartan VI’s shouldn’t be called spartan’s due to how they die in piles and happen to be short. Some other ancient warrior name would do well.
  • promethean technology is visualy very different from covenant tech and it doesn’t make that much sense since covenant tech is reverse engineered.
  • Floating weapon parts would require more power. This would take power away from the weapon.
  • Wraith, banshee, scorpion and warthog (and everything else previously in a halo game) appear to have regressed technology wise.
  • the carbine’s blue trail makes it harder to tell apart from other weapons.
-Twice as much bloom as there should be (glow effect).

I disagree. Halo 4 has the best visuals in the series. The more sci-fi visuals of the UNSC technology and weaponss makes perfect sense. Before they were weaker, on the back foot. Now they have the advantage. Not to mention, this is the Reclaimer saga, it’s all about humanity reclaiming the position the Forerunners once held.

only thing I don’t like is the spartans armor in MP. They are horrible, they look like a cartoon. No metal effects, no signs of the war. Just toys came out fresh from the factory ._.

The only thing I agree with in your post is that the blue Prometheanns should have had blue weapons.

One of the best things 343 did was get the visuals right.

Covenant look the way they should and the rest is great.

I agree with the points about colour and the changes to the covies. I think the elites look more like ‘dinos’ than they ever should and yeah, grunts look too similar and jackals aren’t very bird like anymore.

Yet lots of their tech seems to be backwards. The scorpion still doesn’t have shields on it and it’s rounds are realy slow.

The only thing they’ve actualy inproved on is the spartan undersuit/power source and that they slap forerunner engines and shields onto things.

Plus some of it simply doesn’t need to change. Like The armour designs for marines. Unless marines are getting shields or something massively changing like that then there’s no reason to change the tried and tested uniform. Changes to marines aren’t going to be in design of the armour but rather materials. Look at the shotgun- Making something look more futuristic doesn’t make it better. it’s just silly.

anyway. my main gripe is more with the covenant side of things. Green lights are a horrible design choice for the covenant.
