This is MY opinion, please don’t take it as fact! If you liked what you saw, that’s fine…i really didn’t.
Like most people on this forum, i’ve been playing Halo since the beginning. Enjoyed every entry (aside from 4, that sucked for me) and i even really liked Halo 5…but after the presentation…that was the most let down i’ve ever had this year in terms of gaming.
Gameplay looks fine and standard Halo fair, but a bit quicker, grapple hook is a fun additional, especially for traversing around, but nothing new, happy the art style is similar to past Halo game, which is fantastic.…but wow…that trailer LOOKED TERRIBLE:
- More open world design we don’t need in a Halo game as it’s core focus.It’s been shown time and time again that a diverse linear or small hub areas is more enjoyable to run through. There’s enough -Yoinking!- open world games out there, we don’t need it in Halo. Gears 5 tried and guess what? It was dull,inspired and this looks like more of the same. - The visuals…it’s looks awful.It looks like you’re playing a cartoon adaptation spin off of a real Halo game and everything is a plastic toy and belongs in the Ratchet and Clank universe. You spent 5 years on this? REALLY? HOW? When Reach…a 2010 game…that’s also in the MCC looks LIGHT YEARS better. Gun models are bland AF, everything looks insanely low poly, texture detail is pretty absent, it’s like your art team forget what substance painter and designer was? - New weapons in the arsenal seem uninspired, grapple had fun gameplay elements to it…but Just Cause made that ever better…so this seems limited. - Thought Halo was supposed to be the console’s flagship title?..and this killed it for me. All other shooters that were in that presentation looks far better and more fun: cross fire ,Cod inspired Campaign, Stalker 2 looks WAY better, even Destiny 2 does lol.I found you guys missed the mark HARD. I’m sad to say i’m just not even looking forward to this. Some people are, that’s fine and if they enjoy it, cool! i’ll play it on Gamepass and done unless you showcase more of the game and MP?

Who cares if that’s a demo, 343i showed us a pre rendered cutscene in the E3 2019 Trailer, so many things wrong that we were hyped about and they were so disappointing that i got pissed off, i don’t care if its a demo.

i got game pass, i will play the game without expecting much from now, i may left the series after 16 years if the campaign is not on the level of halo 2/3.

That’s not the idea. the idea is to keep old fans to play the game, you clearly don’t understand how old fans feel about the game, go shut up and play ur stupid halo 5 new fan
What moderator edited my post?
An abomination of the storyline which is suppose to continue after Halo 5 will be a killer for me as a Halo fan.

While I don’t completely agree with op on the general topic, I gotta say no source is necessary here it’s just common sense

Yes, you’re right “Appeal to everyone the best they can”. They should, but they are not doing it correctly, many old fans are disappointed like me, you clearly aren’t a old halo fan, go away and play ur stupid halo 5 while someone blows up the mic in your headset you -Yoink-

For real this has been known forever. We’re too close to launch for any big changes to happen now. They’re just doing bug fixes and network stress tests at this point.
