When Halo 5: Guardians got announced, I was filled with excitement: until I remember the abomination called Halo 4. 343, we want the old Halo back. Not COD with a Halo skin, we want the Halo game that we have grown to love. I wouldn’t even consider Halo 4 to be a Halo game, due to the aspects added to the game simply taking away the Halo feel. Give the fan base competitive MP with a proper rank system. Give us Firefight with added features. Make the MP the best Halo MP ever. The Halo 4 fan base is ridiculously small, and it’s still shrinking. Bring back the TRUE Halo fan base by making Halo 5 the greatest Halo of all time. Please don’t mess up again. I have my faith in you guys, don’t make me lose it.
Clearly you’ve never played the Campaign.
Well, that generic and meaninglessly vague advice was certainly needed.
> Clearly you’ve never played the Campaign.
Actually, I did play the campaign. Notice how I didn’t mention it in the post because that’s the one thing that I feel like 343 got right. Other than that, nothing. Broken multiplayer, and no replay ability.
No, Call of Duty sells more so that is what you’re going to get and you’re going to like it.
> 343, you now Halo 4 sucked. Learn from it.
Lol, that blunt title.
> Bring back the TRUE Halo fan base
I…
> by making Halo 5 the greatest Halo of all time.
Tell us what would make the greatest Halo of all time.
Halo 5 must be great as Halo 4 has less than 10000 players on at the same time in the UK. Come 2015 I cannot imagine anyone playing Halo 4, sadly.
Halo needs something this year to keep it going. Some people who bought xbox ones to play Halo 5 2014 will have a 2 year old console before it hits. not great!
> Some people who bought xbox ones to play Halo 5 2014 will have a 2 year old console before it hits.
Well, if you see this as a problem, you have nobody to blame but yourself.

I don’t see it as a problem, just pointing out fact. Since like possibly “yourself” has a 360 and will cry when the x1 only game is out and not on 360 brace yourself for tears!!!
That title just made you lose any argument you had planned out. #Spellcheck
Regardless, this “advice” was vague. Yea, the game had a lot of problems. Some would say more problems than improvements. But the game didn’t suck. Halo has forever been on a pedestal and now it’s been brought into the reality that is this.
The game traded hands.
It’s the companies first original game.
The new company means new employees which means new general thought process on how the game should be made. It no longer has the 10ish years of a think tank behind it’s decision making.
So the game didn’t “suck”. It just wasn’t as good.
They know what they did wrong and these pointless messages telling them they “need to to better” are, to be redundant, pointless.
If you feel the need to tell them what you want to see in the next game, then make the list with reasons behind why. Don’t threaten them with your “disposable faith” and throw population stats at them.
Shouting at them about how terrible their game is while saying “don’t make me lose my faith in you, do better”
Doesn’t sound like a fan I would want to have.
Some of us probably moved on anyway and waiting for the next installment, so whether you have faith or not really doesn’t matter.
Halo 4 was released at the time when we were focused on a new console being announced. This always affects games as it seems.

Well thank you for reiterating the same general and unsupported arguments that have been floating around these forums for the past year. Yeah, Halo 4 did a lot of things wrong, but it also did some things right and some things it did wrong just need some tweaking to be made right. Simply saying, “Let’s go back to the ‘old’ Halo” is much to vague for 343 to go off of. The only actual suggestions you make is adding a rank system and bringing back firefight. Not saying I want to hear the same well defended arguments about things wrong with Halo all in the same post, but seriously the general statements don’t cut it.
I get a little tired of these Halo 3 radicals that hate 343 and therefore command them to return to “TRUE” Halo without ever laying out what that is. I don’t want to hear things that should be removed, I want to actually hear what you believe we should start with. Rather than say, “I want AA and loadouts and sprint gone”, you could say “I believe Halo is at it’s core a triangle. Melee, guns, and grenades. This is how AA’s break that.”
*know
OP demands aren’t going to change anything. Especially when you throw around completely useless words like “competitive”. How about you make a thread on a specific change so there can be real discussion.
And this is exactly why creating an unproductive thread to spite a company should be flagged as Spam… It’s gotten out of hand.
Halo 4 was still a Halo game. It just wasn’t the best. It had a multiplayer that wasn’t fun for the majority, but there were still some fans of the original trilogy that could at the very least tolerate it or even like some parts of it. For how long is another matter.
That aside, I don’t doubt that even if Halo 5’s multiplayer doesn’t “live up” to Halo 2/3’s multiplayer, it will still likely be better received than Halo 4’s.
There will still be people who don’t like it, no matter how much it improves. Let’s face it, you can’t please everyone.

Don’t worry about me m8, I’ll probably pick a cheap secondhand Xbone up when Halo 5 is released.
Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it isn’t a Halo game. As for the rest of your post, it is completely nonconstructive and utterly useless.
This is your basic generic hate thread. Yes…this is a basic generic reply. Monotone: Shock and Awe
Well I see another OP not going into detail and acting as if entitled.
always when i read those kinds of threads, it makes me actually
more sad than angry. wanna know why ? because 343i worked their
-Yoinks!- of to present the fans a helluva-comeback for the chief.
people tend to forget, that 343i didn’t just make a halo-game
like bungie, they did H4: Forward unto Dawn & Spartan Ops, too.
they had a freaking load of work to do & you have to remember
that was their first project & this was a freaking big one.
sure, Forward unto Dawn wasn’t a blockbuster & neither
the campaign or the MP nor SpOps were masterpieces of gaming art,
but you seriously can’t say that they didn’t try to satisfy the fans.
i can just repeat that it makes me sad, that so many people
just complain & whine, instead of saying something like:
“well, at least you tried, thanks for the effort.”
they simultaneously worked on three big things,
of course some things won’t work out if you do so,
but it’s just the beginning.
neither halo CE or halo 2 were 100% perfect they also
had their flaws, but bungie did manage to create something
big like Halo 3 which MM-Population was very high for a long time.
it’s okay to critize, if your critics are constructive,
but saying 343i is a dumb company or that they killed halo
is just dumb & premature, nothing more, nothing less.
give them time. let them do. when after the next 5-6 years
the games will be like Halo 4, THEN one may say that they
ruined the franchise, but not now, not just about one year & a half
after they released their first halo game.
just my 2 cents.
