343 you have to tweak servers region lock

Since early February servers Region Lock became a fact in many countries: lot of people complaining about not finding matches, or struggling a lot to do it, often blocked for entire hours on search screen with those “Unable to match” messages every 5 minutes.
This solution was enabled in order to make us able to find easily good connection games on nearer servers, and this is good, but in zones were population is far lower than US, like Australia but also Europe (off peak hours), the situation has became unbearable: the game keep searching for good regional matches even when no regional players are available making gamers unable to play freely at any time of the day.
Many players are good with this, simply because they play on peak hours so they experience only reasonably longer search times, but for many players like me playing off peak hours (on morning, late night or during work time) this situation is simply frustrating.
Finding a game in certain hours became a lottery and this, in 2016, simply cannot happen: the matchmaking service is supposed to be up and running 24/7 and, like this, it’s like is broken for 3/4 of the day, enabled only on evening at prime time. This is just ridiculous, you cannot split your (not so big) population in smaller communities unable to find each other at all only for better connection games, it has to be an half way solution between searching firstly for good games and find a game at all if unable to do the first thing.
Regardless of what many people say (“I’m good with region lock!”, “halo it’s more enjoyable like this!”) this solution creates a bigger problem than the one it try to solve: it doesn’t guarantee perfect games anytime and makes entire local communities unable to play the game they love.
343 didn’t answer this yet, but I suggest them to move and address this quickly, the cost of not doing this will be the loss of the entire population outside US on the long shot.

I have the same problem. I live in Germany and cant find players in ffa (im Diamond 3).
343i have to do something…PLEASE 343i.

Yeah man, unfortunately we are not alone: many people from UK, France, North Europe, pretty much the entire Australia and Asia etc.
The point is that even in those countries there are people that defend region lock and think that, as it is now, can be the only solution possible for high latency matches with US people.
I really can’t understand them, really. How can we be happy for the most inefficient solution 343 could find to the latency problem? Splitting up in groups regionally (with no chances to find each other when searching for a game) a population already mutilated by poor X1 sells and hundreds of games that are bringing away players?
Not a good move in my opinion.

So refreshing to find someone else with a great mind on here, I totally agree with you that they went the wrong way or too far with the region lock. Like you said it should search firstly for local and then expand outwards to other regions the way most multiplayer matches have been working for years. Or they could simple give us the choice, both would be acceptable solutions imo.

They could also combine them. It would be the perfect choice to me.

This problem is really getting ridiculous. I can find games more easily on Titanfall!!!
I experienced this inability to find games only with Halo 3, after 3 years since came out and turning “Prefer good connection” filter on.
The difference here is that Halo 5 only came out less than 6 months ago… Such a shame.
The worst thing of all (way more than some fool defending this crazy choice) is that the developers themselves haven’t answered us clearly yet…

I’m afraid that they will ignore us in the end…

I have even tried tweeting them in several occasions with no reply.

Me too.
I think that Bravo only choose positive replies to answer.
For example 2 days ago he tweeted about a new server update that makes easier for high ranked players to find matches.
Some people answered that positively and he responded to them very kindly. After some minutes from his last post i wrote in that very discussion about this matter.
Completely ignored…

I agree totally, it’s completely unacceptable. We paid for the game the same as everyone else, and we are just as entitled to be able to play what we want when we want it the same as those in the US can.
I understand that region lock is to combat lag issues, but as soon as it was obvious it affected people outside the US being able to even find matches it should have been removed until a better solution could be applied.
I love the game, but if this isn’t fixed soon I’ll go buy Black Ops 3 and play that instead.

Agreed.
The only thing we can do now is literally bombing them on Twitter with tweet all together about this argument.

I have a very little chances to be listened alone.

If you’re interested to do so tweet to @Brav, @Halo and @JoshingtonState

Bombing runs All over twitter, calling 1-800-4-myxbox. and just post after post trashing the servers is the only way it will be fixed
I’ve been saying this for going on over two months.
The servers could Have a Nuclear meltdown tomorrow, and it might actually improve the situation.

ISIS could throw together a better Xbox live Halo 5 matchmaking system using a Hacked microwave from the 70’s, Chewing gum, and copper wires from their suicide vests.

I don’t know why this region locking mechanic was implemented without the ability of the end user to select a particular region. Both, the Battlefield and Titanfall series have this ability and for quite sometime now, yet the Halo series cannot? That’s very sloppy work, 343 Industries.
