343 you guys blew my mind.

I’ve been an avid halo fan for years now. Be it the amazing sci-fi epic story, or the fun addictive multiplayer i’ve loved halo from the beginning. When Bungie released Reach i was very excited i mean here’s another halo story, a new multiplayer, and over all a whole new experience within the halo universe. However i was sorely let down.

From someone who has read every written fiction in the halo universe and played all of the halo games the story of reach was just wrong. Timelines towards the end didn’t add up with previous established cannon, the music wasn’t that captivating, the environments were bland and compared to it’s predecessors it was just off. And the multiplayer experience was the worst by far across all previous games. So needless to say after having that dropped on me my expectations for halo 4 were super low. Dam if i wasn’t in for a big surprise.

Campaign: Halo 4’s campaign has got to be one of the best FPS campaigns i have ever played story wise. That cut scene in mission 5 was mind blowing, and all the emotional stuff at the end plus the terminals oh man the story is just everywhere in this game. My only thing with campaign is the fact that the Promethean enemies weren’t that diverse. I mean i know there were different types of the three enemies but they were basically all the same i’d like to see more diversity in the future if these enemies return. Overall A+ best Halo campaign imo.

Audio: The sound in this game is freaking amazing. I feel like i’m in a freaking war-zone 24/7 the guns sound awesome the vehicles sound heavy and gritty i love it. And the music to me is awesome as well. I know some people are going to say that Nobody can do it like Marty and while the first trilogy had great music and those classic sounds we’ll always remember, this is a new game and a new trilogy and it’s time for a new sound and i must say this game hit it spot on i love the music. When you come out of the crash in level 2 and come out overlooking that canyon and the music cue’s i got so freaking pumped.

Spartan Ops: I think the idea of spartan ops is great and it’s a really cool way to keep people coming back week after week. It would be nice to see ODST style firefight come back as well but i understand that there’s only so much you can put in the game.

Multiplayer:Out of the box i immediately noticed the lack of a team doubles, team snipers, and a more traditional ffa, also no multi team, swat or grifball. I also feel like KOTH, oddball, and CTF should just be put into an objective playlist and not be separate playlists. Overall i love the feel of the game though. All of the new mechanics make the game feel fresh and new, but at the same time slayer pro is always available for that more classic feel. The maps are such a step up from the crappy reach play spaces. However i feel like there’s an abundance of big team maps. I’d like to see more small 4v4 maps in the rotation. Overall i love the multiplayer and with some slight tweaks and updates it could be perfect.

343 has brought back my love for halo in a way i didn’t think possible. Thank you for this amazing game and you have this fan’s support for another ten years easy.

I wish I could agree with you saying that this is an epic game but in my opinion it’s not.

I have to agree with you, not only did this not feel much like a Halo game (to me), it is lacking in so many areas.

The vast amount of features from previous Halos removed, the many features from CoD copied and pasted, and the thinning in the skill gap for multiplayer. All the small things that just added up drove me crazy.

I can tell I’ll be bored of this game by the end of this week.

This game is simply amazing. From someone who was so dissapointed with reach, H4 is like falling in love again. Halo is once more fast paced and requires skill.

343 has done a terrific job.

I never thought I’d like ordinance, sprint, perks, or pro vision but my god has it grown on me

This is the sad thing, a very wise person pointed the following out earlier tonight. Halo 4 was supposed to be a game made by Halo fans for the Halo fans but it appears that it was once again a marketing plan and 343 made it to where more people would come in by making it easier and adding “Call of Duty” aspects.

That is the major reason as to why I’m disappointed and I’m sad it had to come to that conclusion.

I love this game for all the new things they added. If it was a copy and paste game of Halo 2 or 3 or Reach people would cry about that. The Halo community is just pathetic now. People are never happy anymore. And if you dont like it then dont play and cry about it here. No one cares about why you hate it.

Halo was supposed to be a game made by Halo fans for the Halo fans… I know I think about this a lot.

As soon as I saw that the Chief was redesigned and the Forward Unto Dawn was redesigned I knew in my gut that this statement was not true as no true Halo fan would start their tenure with the Halo franchise by changing such important things so much so quickly.

Even the Mk VI for multiplayer has been changed! So much for respect for Bungie and the original games.
