Seriously? Why the hell did you put the classic helmets into their own dedicated REQ pack? No way to earn them, just pull out your wallet. Somehow people are excited, the same people who claim to hate the REQ system, and yet they rejoice about classic helmets being locked behind a microtransaction. Not even one. My guess it you’ll have to buy 3 or 4 packs to unlock em all. At least have ONE piece of armour in the WHOLE GAME that you gotta earn. That’s all I ask.

Personally, if 343 does add earnable armour, I’d prefer it to be different from Halo 4’s system.
Getting 500 headshots just to get a different paintjob for an armour set isn’t much of an incentive for me.

Anybody can earn the Olive helmet with there own pure skill and dedication, same was originally true for Helioskrill as well.
Although I prefer to unlock armour through completing special challenges I’m worried that if each of the Reach helmets have very difficult unlock requirements it could end up being another Achilles all over again but on a wider scale depending on how they do it.
As long as they are not 100,000 RP each I think RP is currently the best way to go.

Probably because the helmets have more of a d sign to them, and are more memorable
You can earn helioskrill by completing all MCC campaigns on legendary. Also if you make a map good enough to get into matchmaking you get a helmet… those you can earn.

Just to make things easy, you can unlock the “Legend” achievement while using those 0.0x multiplier skulls. I’m still doing it and I checked my progress and it’s slowly climbing to 100% as I finish each mission.

To be honest if you buy any req pack with rp you earned it. Didn’t you just grind out some games to earn those rp points?

Yeah but then that is not really “earning” it.
Is grinding req points not a part of “earning”? The copperhead was the only armor I wanted in this game, guess how long it took me to grind for it since it was one of the very last things I unlocked. If you’re putting countless hours into an RNG system I’d consider that earning. I’d prefer more achievement based armor that I can straight up attack by commendations but nevertheless I still consider pouring days into grinding as earning.

A huge amount for all of the helmets. One pack unlocks everything, which I find makes it a bit better.
And I agree, I dislike how all of the armour can only be bought through REQ packs, and none of it can be earned from achievements or commendations or whatnot. But there’s nothing we can do about that right now, not for Halo 5. Let’s just be happy that we can get every helmet with one pack, and aren’t being forced to pay real money for them.
