343, you can learn SO much from Reach's mistakes

Please, don’t make us go through them again in Halo 4

  • We DON’T like gray maps all the time
  • We DON’T like invincibility stuff like Armor Lock
  • We DON’T like randomness in our shots (bloom)
  • We DON’T like sword block
  • We DON’T like banshees that can quickly take out a whole team multiple times

And I don’t know about you guys, but white/blue maps like Boardwalk and Forge World are boring to watch. They are too sterile, too lacking of color.

But we do want core aspect’s back, amarite?

I’m torn between wanting to dismiss this thread for its lack of originality (every forum member and his dog has posted an anti-Reach thread, it seems) and wanting to praise it for being non-inflammatory, grammatically correct, properly formatted, and, in the end, very fair in its suggestions.

I agree with everything here except for the banshee. What the banshee gains in being so powerful, it loses for being so vulnerable. The banshee really is not that big of a deal when like 2 guys shooting their DMR’s can kill it in 15’ish seconds.

Armor lock was well used by me many times, simply cause half of the REACH community cant adept and just wait 2 feet away until i pop out?

Forge maps made me sad especial the ones from bungie! remakes and crappy maps blah
Campaign maps were meh.
Map packs were in my opinion pretty great, even though the colors were dull (i did not think so favorite map was hang em high remake beautifully remade)

Randomness in reach was stupid just plain stupid, paceing your shots can kill you. the idea was good, but if some one sprays they will win that is my problem.

If you can prove that to me unequivocally, I will send you one million dollars in gold bullion and the single largest cupcake you have ever laid eyes on. It’s well known that the majority of people on this forum share angello22’s opinions regarding Halo: Reach.

Stop telling what 343 knows already. I seriously doubt that they just ignored Reach and didn’t fathom to learn from their mistakes. We all know what reach lacked OK, I’m tired of people preaching to 343 about Reach failure.

As matter of fact, 343 can do whatever the hell they like lol. The community doesn’t always know what’s best.

The Banshee is fun as hell to fly in Reach. Unfortunately, the sniper rifle is more of a threat to the banshee than the spartan laser.

Correction: YOU don’t want these ideas. and YOU don’t have the right to speak on behalf of all the community.
I and many others have no problem with bloom, and AA’s. Honestly I’d rather have you removed from halo 4.

Wrong. The customer is always right. And if we all boycotted halo 4’s release and 343 made nothing off it, they would go under. The problem isn’t in the community as a whole. The problem is in the small portion of the community who want a games mechanics altered to fit there personal play style because they lack the skill to adapt.

I have to disagree with you on AL and the forge maps.

“Adapting” has nothing to do with the mechanic. I, for example, have “adapted” to AL. I’ve also “adapted” to sprint. I’ve “adapted” to poor overall map design. I’ve “adapted” to a luck based mechanic. I still don’t think any of those things should return, as they hurt MM more than they helped it.

Also, I’ve never understood the “gray maps” complaint. A poor cartographer will make a truely gray map, but a solid forger can work with the pallet to make something interesting. That said, I’d still love to have some more options on the pallet.

And what’s with all the community map complaints? They didn’t provide any “awesome” maps, they certainly gave us some entertaining maps. The community playlist was my favorite playlist back when it was live.

1)NO BLOOM
2)NO REAL EXTENSIVE CUSTOMIZATION, like vehicle and weapon customization. thatll make it too much like COD
3)NO AA’s EXCEPT SPRINT, but no more heavy breathing. it was really obnoxious and annoying, if not NO SPRINT EITHER
4)No REACH REMAKE
5)No forgemade MM maps
6}NO REACH REMAKE!!! make it like Halo CE-3. 343 will bring ALOOOOT of players back to halo, like me. im playing Halo CE and 2 on the PC and halo 3 on xbox and reach was in my garbage 8 months ago
7)NO MORE CREDITS OR BUYING ARMOUR. you should have to unlock armour as you level up
8) No more assassination animations, going back to the original beat down to the back assassination IMO is alot better. and NO MORE KNIVES ON THE CHEST PLATES
9)KEEP THE STANDARD COLOR VISORS, GOLD ONLY !!

haha I pretty much agree with everything here. I also with they didnt get rid of Ranked and Social/1-50 ranking system.

No we wouldn’t. There is something I would like to add to your list: I DON’T like ranks. Ranks, commendations, the armory, credits. Credits are the worst part of halo reach, without them and ranks there would be no point to boost. No ranks or commendations and 3/4 people wouldn’t go afk in a firefight game, they all want that perfectionist and an easy 2-4000 credits for game complete. I don’t like AA’s in general, but the equipment from halo 3 was a neat idea. I rarely used them, and when I did I accidentally hit the X button most of the time because I am so used to it being for reloading. As far as commendations go they only make me want to play the game more. I don’t care about what I killed somebody with or how many headshots I had. All I want is a kill counter. As far as the armory goes buying new items only affects those around you unless you are in a vehicle or are dead, only then you can see yourself in game. I don’t care what people look like in game, and I don’t stare at them as I’m filling them with lead. Any of you remember Halo for PC? CTF heavy weapons only. Those were the days, when you could kill somebody driving a tank with a pistol and then hop in without worrying about a stray frag blowing it up. But now the vehicles absorb the damage from other people, and they explode after enough damage. How about you just make them indestructible but their operators not? I’m a fan of classic gameplay and I feel that the more we deviate from what was so great before, the more we get let down by our expectations.

Sword block is balance the Rest of Reach is horrible! Halo 2 is where its at.
