343, will we get a Halo Infinite console at launch

I’m mainly directing this at the members of 343i on this forum, but feel free everyone to pitch in.

I’m at abit of a dilemma and am looking for some clarification. I’ve decided that I’m going to update my console when the next gen releases next year (mines becoming very temperamental). I will also be buying the legendary edition of Halo Infinite.

Now, I have always wanted to own a special Halo edition console, but have never had the chance to buy one, and I see an Infinite console as being a way of hitting multiple birds with one stone. But my dilemma is that I want to be able to play at launch, but also don’t want to miss out on owning my first limited console.

343, please can you shed any light on this:
A) whether there will be a console edition of Infinite.
B) whether it’ll be available at launch.

I appreciate that you probably cant tell me anything, at least not till Microsoft have revealed more on the Xbox Scarlett, but hope that you can reveal some news on it soon. And if there are not any plans to release a Halo Infinite console at launch, then I hope myself and the rest of the Halo community can persuade you to make this happen. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this position!

Thank you for listening to my rambling

Infinite is the launch title for Scarlet, so I’m sure there will be a limited edition console.

The Xbox one Halo 5 edition was available at Halo 5’s launch.

I hope so. The difference here is that it’s not just the launch of the game, but also for a new gen of console. I’m not sure if it’s common for limited edition consoles to be also available at the launch of a new console.

I’d guess no. Custom colours and artwork are generally something that doesn’t come at launch, because they are more focused on just cranking out as many of the standard consoles as humanly possible.

At most, I’d guess they’ll put out a limited edition Scarlett controller for Halo or something.

Theres been a limited xbox for every Halo this released besides CE and H2 and its the last Halo and its the year 2020. I’m more than 100% positive there will be a limited edition xbox at launch of Halo Infinite.

Agreed that I would find it hard to believe Infinite won’t receive a limited edition console since almost every previous game got one. But, where did you hear that Infinite would be the last Halo?

Im just going by what I’ve been told by people who read the books but anything is possible I could most definitely be wrong.

With the Banished being introduced only two years ago and with them and the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire in a sort of stalemate, I seriously doubt Halo: Infinite is going to be the last Halo game. Unless you directly hear it from the developers, take whatever you hear from other people with a pinch of salt.

Probably not going to hear about special edition consoles until E3. While there is a good chance there will be one, probably not going to see or hear about it until Scarlett is officially renamed and announced next year

I think it’s probable that we’ll see one either immediately at launch or very shortly thereafter. It’s true that LE consoles at launch are a rarity, but if there ever was a a situation where one made as much since as Infinite on Scarlett, I can’t remember it.

It’s helpful optical marketing for both the game and the system to have a sweet looking Halo themed system available at launch, for a limited time only. I just hope it evokes Chief again. It made sense that the Halo: Reach X360 was trying to look like a piece of ONI equipment, but the Halo 4 LE X360 (which I actually was dumb enough to purchase, even though it came out as the swan song of Gen 7…) was a bit of a disappointment in that it only tried to look like some “Forerunner” thingamagig. I skipped the H5 console, but a friend of mine has it and I’m similarly disimpressed by its design that I can only assume is trying to evoke Locke’s armor.

The Halo 3 x360, despite being one of the RROD-susceptible early models, was incredible to behold. It looked like the Master Chief Xbox even more than the CE original Xbox console did, and I really, really wanted one of those. With Infinite seemingly attempting to cash in on MC’s iconic image and character, giving us an even cooler Master Chief themed console wouldn’t go amiss.

Unless Microsoft has some major surprises in store for E3 2020 I’m guessing Infinite will launch with a special edition console since that’s really the only major draw they’ve revealed so far. At least, I hope they do, because while I’ve never seriously considered a special edition console or legendary edition of a game before, my hype will have been marinating for 5 years so I will most definitely spring for it in this instance.

Yeah maybe, that would be cool

Probably will happen, they always do limited consoles with their games. Meanwhile gears 5 had it.

More than likely, especially for Scarlett

This

I would say yes. But the fact that it’s a launch of a new console and a new halo game makes me say no because Microsoft will probably be cranking out normal consoles in mass and not worry about putting skins and limited editions for specific games until the following Holiday season.

but if there happens to be a halo custom Scarlett I’ll be waiting in line at stores to buy it day one and take time off classes (which I will do regardless on launch day but gives me more incentive to)

Hopefully, I’m considering getting day 1 as the Halo releases the same holiday. I guess it depends on if it costs more than the normal X1, if the console looks good. Plus after Scorpio I’m not so sure if I care much for limited edition consoles anymore.

Both CE and Halo 2 have limited edition consoles. I literally have the CE xbox.

I don’t know maybe they will as a limited edition or maybe not cause fans and players are cautious about Infinite being potentially good or bad.
If the game is bad, I doubt player will want to spend money on a special edition console based on Halo Infinite. There will surely be some that will buy it just for collection or because it’s special.
On the contrary, if the game is good, players will maybe want to buy it a lot more.

I would buy a Halo console for sure. I’m all in with the new Xbox and even more if they have a Halo edition. Though I like the black version. Might need to buy 2. one of each.
