a fading sun makes a very good point in a thread I replied to.
> You see, I have an issue with this and it’s probably what started the original question to begin with; but I’ve not seen any attempt from 343’s side to show that they are catering to both crowds. Having a classic playlist is not catering towards anyone until they’ve released their settings in it. If sprint is in, then I know they just don’t give a Yoink! about anything “classic”.
I remember back in Halo 3, Bungie released a ton of Vidocs, I think 4 or 5 and that was months before the release date. So far you guys have only released like 3 Vidocs? Might I ask why? You have people in uproar about all these features in Halo 4 yet we’ve seen footage from E3 but still so little is shown from that footage. We may get more from RTX, but I ask why are you keeping so secretive of Halo 4? The people that fight back the uproar still have so little information to go on. Matchmaking has been discussed but literally only like 2 gametypes have been shown/discussed. We’ve only heard word of a clasic playlist from evidence of June 13th’s bulletin but no footage showing it. The competive crowd is anxiously waiting for information on a competitive turn to Halo 4 and so far only a classic playlist has been spoken of.
You show Infinity Slayer which does not cater to very many competitive players. Will Longbow be shown at RTX? It’s already July and only 3 Vidocs have been released. Can we at least get a vidoc to at least show, this is what we’ve done and how matchmaking has been tweaked after the E3 build? I mean even if its a little, it’ll still show how much more tuned the game is being tweaked for both crowds.
we don’t deserve more info, not with how people act around here.
“oh look new halo 4 info, I’ll just focus on what I think is bad and flame about if for a few weeks even though logic dictates I’m uninformed”
It’s so you can be surprised when you actually pick up the game. Bungie literally gave away everything before Reach came out. The only thing we didn’t get was the physical disk. You wouldn’t want a movie completely spoiled for you would you? It’s nice to keep secrets. It’ll make the game that much more exciting when you pick it up.

The reason of how people act is because of the tiny piece of info they know.
> It’s so you can be surprised when you actually pick up the game. Bungie literally gave away everything before Reach came out.
Oh yeah, I believe they gave away most of the campaign.
I like how they’re releasing some info because I want the game to be a surprise when I get it and they’re having a RTX which they’re allowing people like me and you to play Halo 4 and Comic Con, we don’t know what be at Comic Con. PS. I heard loads of new imformation will be at Comic Con.
I don’t know if this is a word or not but,
Why are some people information greedy.
Actually I don’t think it’s a word, but it’s sounds funny.
I don’t think any amount of info would satiate the Halo fan appetite. The game is coming Nov 6th. They have an advertising plan I would assume. We just have to sit tight and enjoy the ride. Trust me I want more info too but I don’t think there is a drought of information either.

Bungie also were tossing out Vidocs even before Halo 3’s release, months before it too. Halo 2 and Halo 4 are the only games that didn’t have a public beta. Halo 3 and Reach did.
So we are more excited about it when the game launches. Releasing too much info and you’ll burn gamers out because they know everything. The package comes off as less fresh IMO.
If you were to ask that in January-mid March, i would have agreed with you as little to no info was released, if at all. Compared to that, we are sitting on a treasure trove of Halo 4 information.
If you see the Halo 3 ViDocs you will see that they were made like 5 months or so before launch. That is because they released the MP Beta and they had to explain it.
Yeah, so, we have 3 ViDocs or BTS. So? They and we don’t want to spoil the game too much. Bungie made a terrible mistake by spoiling and showing tons and tons of Campaign info.
Besides, we still have plenty of time before Halo 4 launches. RTX is coming, Comic-Con is coming. That’s were they will release more info (maybe Forge in CC like Bungie did?).
3 months from now you’ll be wishing you didn’t know as much as you did.
To keep the game more mysterious. Bungie released a ton of videos for Reach, spoiling a lot of it for the fans. I am actually glad 343i is keeping their mouths shut.
More to enjoy November 6th!
I don’t think much more info is necessary. Yes, it’s going to drive us crazy, but it will also keep us hyped for the game and I’m sure that’s what they want. Before Reach’s release, Bungie let out way too much info; it was ridiculous. They gave us like 10 videos, they told us all the achievements, gave details about most if not all new weapons/maps, showed us pics of new medals. It was too much, and for the most part I want to be surprised.
That being said, what I do want them to give a little more info about is what they are going to do about ranks and the skill system.
maybe there trying to keep it hidden so people can get excited.
usually means you have something to hide.

this. plus we still have oh 4 months? still plenty of time. id rather not know the game inside and out when i get my hands on halo 4 like what happened with reach.
> usually means you have something to hide.
No it doesn’t. A game shouldn’t spill all its beans before release.

They shouldn’t be acting that way anyways.

Of course not. But H4 has barely spilled any.
