The Oddball sends someone far forward at top speeds. But the Gravity Hammer bops someone over the head and they tumble over like a cartoon? Gravity Hammer is one of the main things in Halo that you thinking about when you hear about physics. I wanna have a Gravity Hammer that lets me throw someone far away from me. That’s what I found fun about Grifball. I know there is a few months to release and things could change so please give stupid physics and let us smack a vehicle away from us when they try and run us over. 343, Please.
I think they keep some things hidden from the teasers/trailers on purpose so it do be like that
For a ball to send someone that far, I guess you could say it was pretty… Odd.
Yeah I am hoping the hammer has more kick to it. Grifball launches are great.
I feel like aside from that it isn’t as useful now we have clamber.
in the trailer it did have some weird delay it looked like. maybe there is greater gravity “push” with increased wind up now?
The Gravity Hammer didn’t look very heavy animation-wise, it kind of looked like the spartan was swinging a Nerf Gravity Hammer. I hope they tweak that in the upcoming tests.
Griftball in halo 5 is broken, you are super far away from an enemy, he uses the hammer and you die, while you do the same and don’t kill him. it’s very frustrating.

Yeah the shockwave behaviour is definitely a bit janky

Ha…ha…ha lol
The footage we saw at E3 was not finalized. I’m sure that the physics will be there at launch, if not in the flight.

Man, I hope so. I can’t imagine Griftball™ without the physiscs.
I’m gonna be Honest, the Hammer looks abit like it has some weight behind it. With that much power I hope to God Physics is there. Like I said earlier, I want to smack vehicles away from me. It gives the run over technique (If you can call it that seeing as everyone does it) some counter play. I saw a halo 3 clip where someone was in a chopper and was gonna run over some guy who had a Gravity Hammer, he turned around and hit the chopper and it went flying away. It seriously is half the fun of a Gravity Hammer.
Hammer physics might’ve still been in the process of being ironed out in that build of the game.
There was no better feeling when you send a warthog flying with the gravity hammer
Just came back to this thread for a bit to confirm that the physics that we all love are in the flight!

That is a big cap, the physics are still mostly missing. You cannot hammer jump, knock back barely happens to enemies and virtually none to teammates.

Yeah, I realized that myself a few games after I posted my comment. The physics are good when they work, like in my first game using the hammer, but they are very inconsistent. Thankfully, this is just the tech preview, and our voices may be heard by the time the game releases.
Despite the game preview, I wonder if the gravity hammer had a second mode other than the Gavel Shockwave?
Not to mention there was the only one attack animation instead of swinging the hammer sideways or jabbing somebody at the end of the rod.
What the gravity hammer need two firing modes: the Gavel Shockwave that was in the preview, and the Gravity Distortion from Halo 3 that could make everyone jump and phase through walls.
Not to mention I wished the Gravity Hammer had a idea of how you beat up people based on how you move around in a melee.
Like strafing with the gravity hammer would cause your spartan to swing the hammer sideways, or sprinting towards your foe with a jab.
I don’t know; the gravity hammer feels like it needs more animations.
