We can tolerate many things. This community can tolerate a lot. We’ve tolerated your misdoings, and many other things. You promise us many things (With these promises, Halo 4 broke Franchise records. What more do you want!?!?!?!) but sadly you fail to give them.
But now…
> More Details:
> • You will have a unique CSR visible per playlist.
> • Your highest CSR across all playlists will be promoted in the player profile on Halo Waypoint.
> • CSR uses familiar 1-50 scale.
> • When CSR launches, everyone will start with a fresh rating.
343, YOU SAID, VERY CLEARLY, you were recording stats. You say it over and over saying that our stats will be recorded for this. Bad enough there isn’t ranked, now you say we have to work for it ALL OVER AGAIN?
You’re just proving that the past 3 months of Halo 4 have just been a beta test for you guys.
There’s only one reason I still have hope in you, 343, and that is because the Halo Legacy is on your backs. I don’t want this Franchise to die, but really, you promise us many things (Some of which were already hard to tolerate, but we did!) and yet you STILL fail?
I though you would have learned from the past 3 months of players complaining…
I don’t see how this is something to get upset about? You’ll just be beating on worse players for… what? A week, maybe? Then you’ll be whatever rank you deserve and playing against players of your level.
This issue is pretty unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

Our stats should already determine what rank we are. We shouldn’t have to start from the beginning.
Okay, hang on a sec. They never said they were keeping track of stats for one (correct me if I’m wrong). And second why would you already want to be a level 40 in Team Slayer? Personally if i was already a SR130 CSR would bring much to the table in terms of replay and competitiveness. Which would be wasted if in my favorite playlist i was already the highest rank.

Actually that little number was the sole reason people went back to Halo 3 over and over again. Playing to get better is addictive, more so than “Ooooooh I can unlock another perk!”
I need a real ranking system. Beating on bad players all day is boring.
I also predict a lot of the games flaws popping up once a real ranking system is implemented. Thats when you will see all the really good players abusing the perks and upgrades that are in the game.
I thought the whole point of the ranking system was to earn your place, not for it to be handed to you. The data they have been recording was back end sort of stuff that they are using to fine tune how CSR will work.
By your logic, you would rather start at say…48…than work your way up to it. Life isn’t about getting things handed to you on a silver platter. Sorry to break the illusion.
I agree. The past 3 months have been nothing but a beta test as lame as that is I have to say that the stats we have now should determine the rank we are. I am happy that 343 has the franchise in their hands because they did great with graphics and everything but what they failed on was making different forge enviornments which are incredibly and terribly small. It would be a booster for 343 sales if they would make a dlc or something along those lines to improve forge make it bigger like halo reach forge world.
I don’t want to say that the forge maps we are given to forge on are bad they are good in graphics but they are terribly small to forge a map that is designed for a BTB map or for asthetic forgers or art forgers. Forge world in my perspective needs to be optimized and enlarged so that art forgers and competetive map forgers can create the art in forge that they used to make in Halo: Reach and recreated it in Halo 4 and Competetive forgers can make BTB maps to play with friends and 343 needs to incorperate those BTB maps into Matchmaking Big Team Infinity Slayer just as Halo: Reach Big Team Slayer had forged big team maps from the community on mathmaking.
I had to say what my thoughts are on what 343i can improve with Halo 4 to satisfy the thirst and creativity for players and forgers alike.

What you’re saying has very little to do with the point I was trying to make.
I’m just saying that all the games played so far, in Halo 4 matchmaking, have been against people who were matched together VERY loosely based on a hidden skill. Being given a rank with the stats you’ve achieved so far would mean nothing because you were basically playing a random assortment of players rather than people close to you in skill level.
Don’t really care, and people say CSR makes a games last longer so wouldn’t starting from the beginning make you play it longer? Yet you’re mad, I don’t the logic.
> Don’t really care, and people say CSR makes a games last longer so wouldn’t starting from the beginning make you play it longer? Yet you’re mad, I don’t the logic.
For the past 3 years I’ve been being matched up with bad players. Where’s the rank?
CSR doesn’t make a game last longer, good players do.
The logic is this:
I’m a good player.
343 says my stats will be recorded so that when they finish CSR (Why isn’t it finished in the first place?) I would be matched up with good players.
Then it turns out I’m going to have to redo everything again. NOT only that, but I didn’t know this earlier because of 343’s terrible communication.
343, I feel, has potential. But their lack of communication isn’t going magic, and yet they focus more on that than improving the game.
> They were taking stats and data to make sure that CSR would work properly.

> You are wrong. They never said that they would use our current stats.

> I’ll save you time though, they never did. You assumed incorrectly.
So you’re saying they were taking our stats for a big beta test?
Again, even worse. And yes, they did promise us CSR, even if indirectly.
You’re just proving 343’s lack of communication (And when they DO communicate, miscommunication).
You’re wrong. They said they hadn’t decided on whether CSR would start everyone off with their current skill or nuke everyone and start from 0. They went for the latter, personally I don’t care. What I do care about is that its waypoint only, rather than in-game.

Yeah…don’t assume that applies to EVERY Halo 3 player. I NEVER cared about that little number, only the overall victory for the team. Personal glory was not at all relevant.
But overall, I kept going back because the game was just flat out fun. Win or lose it had the best balanced not to mention largest sandbox and some of the best maps of the series.
