This is something that really bothers me. I love playing elites. Apparently I’m not the only one as there is a thread that is still alive since Halo 4 not having them as payable in multi-player.
In Halo 4 we got an answer to why they were not. The answer was really simple. They were not payable because they wanted to have their games follow canon.
This is where I question them with their answer. Why are they not payable in Halo 5? You want your games canon, do you not? Ayit was an allied elite that helped out Thorne in certain scenarios, did he not? What about halo 5 campaign? We are now, yet again, allied with the elites.
So, 343, What is your excuse for elites not being playable this time?
If anyone can fill me with this information, it would be great. If no one does, then 343 needs to answer.

Considering how many players want elites back and 343 simply chooses to ignore them, I would say they do have to answer to why they are not listening to their fans.

Yea like adding them in for custom games or their own unique mode would hurt the game somehow especially with this lack luster customization how could they not add them in.

Theyve made Elites huge…
Elites don’t play war games in the Infinity… so it’s not canon… still, I’d forgive their transgression on cannon if they brought back elites lol. It would be cool to play a unsc vs covenant playlist.

Everyone arguing about canon- Halo Online is supposed to have elites and it’s canonically in a War Games simulator on some space station.

the multiplayer experience should never exist on one timeline in the halo franchise, or at least not feel like it does. how boring would it be to play halo 3 and all the maps were human themed only because that’s the only environment we experienced?

Who cares if it is canon or not, we play the game to enjoy it and taking away something that was in the series before is akin to taking content away from the people who paid to play their game. Makes little sense. Seeing as there were opportunities in the campaign to play as the Arbiter when you are on Sanghelios. It would have been so awesome, taking the path Arbiter took in Sunaion instead of taking the path Osiris takes.
