Halo has changed drastically over its “evolution” into halo reach and 4, but was it for better or worse?
Ok, well let’s look at today’s population for halo 3 and halo 4. Halo 3 now has 44,960 players due to its free release. And now for the sad part… Halo 4 has 14, 670 player.
3 times more people are playing a game that is 5 years old! 5 years!!? If you don’t see what’s going on, halo will die. But more importantly, to you, you will make no more money.
So whatcha gonna do 343?
Yeah, it has been 5 days though and most of the people i see have played before, looking at their experience. I think we will be seeing a comeback from halo 3.
I do like Halo 3 better but older games always bring people back no matter what franchise it is. I bet if they released the first Modern Warfare for free you’ll see people leaving BO2 to play it.
Hopped on Halo 3 today. Played a game of Team Duals on Snowbound. Halfway through the match and I remembered why I dropped Halo 3 a while back during Halo: Reach… the lag. That awful game-breaking lag. The type of lag where your shields are going down and there’s no enemy in sight. The type of lag where you hop on a Mongoose and die without being shot. The type of lag where the enemy team is rubber-handing all over. Yeah… The 6 days of game time I acquired all those years ago was awesome. But I can’t go back to… that. Just not worth it.
If 343 doesn’t fix Halo, I’m done.
I’ll play Campaign, but that’s it.
Otherwise, I’ll be playing Destiny.
I’ll also be playing Call of Duty.
Because their developers don’t mess with their obviously successful gameplay.
Something 343 (and Bungie) has failed to do.

No worries! Halo 3 has something called Search filter. Press X and search for “Good Connection”.
Halo 3’s population counter runs on 24 hours. It is the accumulation of all who were online that day, not that moment. We’ll only see where its ranked when the charts come out.
As for it influencing their decisions, it just proves what they already know. The classic gameplay has a following too. Would they ditch everything they’ve made and started with Halo 4? Hell no.
But they can certainly improve those sections and offer classic areas at launch to keep all audiences happy. Sometimes there just isn’t a middle ground, evident by Halo 4. Many evidently said classic or nothing.
Sure maybe some went back for the FREE part but look at the HALO PRO’S and well 80% of MY FL are on H3 almost everyday and im over here playing H4 trying to make best of what i can .
Halo 3 had it right Halo’s population over the last 5 months has not been good
Not sure what this has to do with Halo Xbox One but if you’d like to discuss Halo 3, there’s a section for that. And if you’d like to discuss Halo 4, there’s a section for that too.
I’m also fairly confident there’s a couple threads like this floating around already. Let’s use those instead of making new ones in places they don’t belong. Thanks!
